I fucked up the above post, the year is 2008 and I forgot to erase the duplicate text below the pictures. Ministry "C U Latour" (with Meshuggah and Hemlock) 4-19-2008 New Orleans, LA House Of Blues Hemlock sucked, Meshuggah was absolutely amazing. Their timing was absolutely perfect. I loved the crowd, because you had your meatheads with your tall nerdy math rock guys and your goth chicks. I didn't know Meshuggah had two bassists, it really added body to the sound. I stood next to the guy at the light board, and he had to have the same perfect rhythm as the band. Incredible. That drummer has to be the most talented metal drummer I've ever seen. In a word, Ministry was relentless. Insane lighting, and insane projected imagery behind the stage. Al's antler crucifix mic stand with a vagina on the microphone was badass. He came out like a true god of industrial music, with his top hat and sunglasses and black and chains. No setlist, but the opener was "Lets Go" which was fucking awesome. Every song before the encore was off the last three albums, which was kickass because the last three albums are intense. Al hates George W. Bush. They really turned it out in the encore, with some guy from Fear Factory on vocals: So What > Thieves > NWO > Just One Fix. Then they came out with a second encore, two covers from the Doors and Stones, respectively: Roadhouse Blues, Under My Thumb. Strangely a bunch of black and white Ministry balloons fell on the crowd during "Thumb". It was fun as all hell. New Orleans is super sketchy now, much different then pre-Katrina. When we were trying to get on the interstate, a suburban with tinted windows came peeling around us at about 80mph, swerved in and out of the lanes, then stopped in the middle of the two lanes in front of us. I thought for one second we were about to get murdered. But we didn't!

this is wonderful news. The LPs were just too expensive. While these digital versions still aren't cheap, $20 off is nice! I'll probably end up buying them all. Makes me want a hi-rez player again.

all excellent points, but allow me to defend my preference for the dinner party episode. To this date, I think it is the most tension-filled episode I've ever seen, which means I laughed the entire time, finally culminating in a huge, wonderful, "thats what she said". I concur that it was over the top, maybe I was just in the mood for over the top after so long without a new office.

flats is the only way with the rs-1. every positive comment I ever make about the rs-1 assumes flats. if you want soundstage buy speakers.

nice pic! you both look happy. i have a big head to, which greatly affects my affinity for Grados. RS-1s with flats are about as comfortable as it gets for me. I did have some comfort issues with the HP2 though, mainly due to the weight.

Yup! But really it was fun adjusting and learning about the phones.

I think I've got the final bend completed: 1) sharp inward hooks on the bend right above the housings to hook the driver under my ear 2) stretch the overall headband flat so I get a wider, gentler arc to accommodate my wide head (this is the new part, previously I'd been trying to tighten the arc) 3) aim the creases in the pads right around where my glasses frames sit on my head Viola, it appears I have the perfect fit. Getting this headphones adjusted right was quite frustrating. At times it reminded me of learing to setup a vinyl rig, and though it certainly wasn't as neurosis-inducing as that, the payoff is similarly satisfying. Comfy but snug fit, lovely complex bass, beautiful midrange, precise and non fatiguing highs.
