  1. yeah, its a damn good record.
  2. Nah, an MMO. I just had go finally admit to myself that I don't have time to play one of these effectively. Cool, I'll look into this.
  3. Yeah, I certainly know where to go fishing for the answer I want. Well I took the new memory out and I'm running fine. I don't think I'm going to worry about putting anything else back in since I only got it for a game I can't seem to get into anyway.
  4. So my computer has started doing this thing where every time I turn it on, after about 5 minutes, give or take a minute, regardless of what I'm doing on the computer, I get a blue screen of death crash and the computer resets. The weird thing is, once it resets and starts up again, its 100% fine, no more crashes. This only occurs when I start my computer from an off state. When I start back up it always gives me the "windows has recovered from a serious error" box. The reason is something to do with bad memory. Indeed I did add some new RAM several weeks back, but I did not start experiencing this until recently. Nevertheless, I've done lots of trouble shooting involving moving the ram around to different slots, and even swapping it out with a newer stick of RAM to no avail. Any thoughts? Also should I buy an iMac?
  5. happy birthday! buy yourself a balancing act.
  6. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/26/arts/music/26griffin.html?_r=1&oref=slogin I only recently discovered his music. He's great.
  7. no kidding. vinyl accessories add up quick.
  8. I disagree a bit here. While I agree eating less will make you lose weight (cal in cal out), I also strongly believe what we eat affects this as well. In short, I stick to the edges of my supermarket and avoid just about anything in the middle. Lots of fresh vegetables, meat, eggs. Avoiding sugar and white carbs (flour). For snacks I usually do peanuts, but lately I've been cutting out snacking (because I'm not hungry between meals as much anymore). The only fluids I take in are water, mineral water, and coffee. Avoiding as best I can anything processed in favor of "food". Working just the edges of the supermarket for just the past three months, I've lost close to 30 pounds. Zero exercise. I am going to start exercising once I hit 200 lbs, and start incorporating fruits into my diet as well. I'm also a supplement taker, but I'm not sure if I'm a supplement believer yet. Regardless, I take a multi with no iron, CoQ-10 enzyme, b complex, fish oil, chromium piccolinate, and l-carnitine,. I only started reading this book a couple weeks ago, but he does a pretty good job of summing up what I've been doing the past few months, and plan on doing from here on out: Amazon.com: In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto: Michael Pollan: Books
  9. interesting idea, but I don't really want to use a DAC with it.
  10. Well I didn't buy it, but since I have a DVD-A player now I'm downloading the 24/96 WAV files to make my own DVD-A.
  11. double meaning!
  12. I'm not a big Westerberg or Replacements fan (its a yet kind of thing, I haven't listened much), but I love this. An entire MP3 album is worth 50 cents to me, so I'll be grabbing it.

    DCD on DSD

IIRC you ordered from Acoustic Sounds like I did. I just got mine today, so yours shouldn't be far behind. I haven't even opened them up yet, but already I love the packaging. I'll probably rip and do some listening tonight.
  14. happy birthday, ye ancient superpowerful creature that wanders the earth with no true recollection of his past, variously assisted and loved by one companion, or used by others.
  15. This did it. Thanks all for your help.
  16. its not blank, its got my flac music folder in it. i had my playlist folder pointed to somewhere in the general vicinity of my iTunes directory for some reason. I've changed it to music and am doing a full rescan, will see if that solves the problem.
  17. ok, will do, but its weird because I can only point it to one directory. I had to manually create shortcuts to my other two music directories. Now when I hover over the Music Folder "I" key under basic options, it says: "You can specify a folder containing music files that SqueezeCenter will scan and add to your music library. Enter the path to the folder below. You can leave this field blank if you are importing your music library information from iTunes or MusicIP." (emphasis mine) So where else can I look?
  18. I have all my FLACs across three hard drives, and all my MP3s in the default iTunes directory under My Documents. I have not pointed Slimserver to my iTunes directory, but it won't stop pulling MP3s. The result is I'll be listening to an album, and there are duplicates of every track: first the FLAC, then the MP3. This is annoying. How can I get my Squeezebox to stop pulling from my MP3 directory?
  19. Good to hear. Isn't the price of the 80gig going down to $400?
  20. grab a PS3. I have the 40gb and it is super quiet. Supposedly some of the higher models are noisier, but I can't vouch for this with personal experience. Hasn't failed to play a disc, the picture is fantastic, and the sound is as well. Some folks bitch about the controller being a bad remote. Its fine with me, seeing as how I just play movies, and occasionally pause them using the start button to pee or get more water or peanuts.
  21. 1. HD650 2. HF-1 3. ER4P I finally got an iPhone headphone adapter for the recessed jack, and was listening to my ER4P with foamies while I was trimming the hedges. These IEMs definitely rule, and the foamies are much more comfortable then I remember them being.
  22. Thanks! I'll either be buying the customizer or the spacesaver for sure.
