  1. Both sources output impedance around 300 ohm, input impedance on power amps 100k. Output stage is the whatever is in the Assemblage DAC-2, phono is the output stage of the Pearl phono. I talked to a couple of TVC makers including John Chapman at Bent, no one thinks it's a great idea to try and drive that much cable with TVC/AVC. Oh well, keeping the rack between the speakers really doesn't sound very good.
  2. Charles Mingus - Dynasty (Pure Pleasure vinyl) great sq
  3. Sennheiser USA is a bit clueless about their older product line They can order replacements from Germany if they are OOS.
  4. I changed out 3 sets of 6DJ8/(1 pair)7DJ8 (one of those 6DJ8s were NOS Amperex) when I had the SHA-1, which was a short period. I would take my M^3 over the the SHA-1 any day. I guess I'd take a Singlepower ES-1 over some of the crap out there as well (McAlister)
  5. Melos SHA-1 and SHA-Gold both had rackmount faceplates. The SHA-1 chewed through tubes and there is better sound for the money so I can't really recommend it.
  6. NHOP smokes, gotta find more recordings with him. So far not a big fan of The Trio, but I usually prefer Oscar Peterson playing a bit slower, more soulful pieces.
  7. Broken Social Scene - Forgiveness Rock Record so excited, new BSS!!

  10. Jimi Hendrix - Valleys of Neptune vinyl
  11. Yup gotta love a lower profile label like Pablo, always great deals on LPs in the used bins
  12. Oooh judging by the awfulness of that album cover the music must be really tasty Adding to amazon queue.
  13. Slayer - South of Heaven
  14. I do have a few LA 4 albums. Great stuff. I didn't know NHOP played with Oscar Peterson, he is one of my favorites as well. Thanks for all the recommendations, this thread got a lot more activity than I anticipated.
  15. After doing more reading I think I would go about replacing the top plate as well with a PTP or something. The whole thing is still well beyond my skill level so I'll leave it be for now.
  16. Well at least this little recall didn't kill people
  17. I haven't heard it or anything with Chuck Israel. Thanks I agree there is only one Ray Brown. Already picked up every Fantasy 45 rpm issue he is on
  18. I mean other albums he is on that are good.
  19. Any recommendations? I have the two with him and Joshua Redmon. He's technically very proficient, not sure if it's exactly what I'm looking for though...
  20. Looking for any recommendations for more current jazz bassists (and good albums with them) that had a similar style to Ray Brown or Paul Chambers (laid back, playing in the pocket, great melody).
  21. Have you considered hiring a fictional character to play a fictional character
  22. In that deleted post you did mention the clocks. You did not say you were a representative of the company. I restored the post, thanks for letting us know who you are.
  23. Two things though- people claim the foam is stiffer in the MK2 pads so maybe they'll last longer. Marc also says the MK2 pads form a better seal. I can't use O2 with glasses with the MK1 pads since it doesn't form a perfect seal.
  24. Bob we need a pic of all the Kisekis lined up
  25. Dave Brubeck Quartet - Time Further Out original US 6 eye mono vinyl
