  1. With the hints dropped in this thread, I am guessing similar to Stax ED-1, except way more awesome since it's a KG design
  2. What did you think of the treble extension on the HF-2? The times I heard them I thought it was very poor. It's true they aren't peaky which is nice. I also like the MS-2i over the HF-2.
  3. I don't hate them, I would never buy another now that I have the Omega 2. I would get a used RS-1 (with flats) over the HF-2 as well.
  4. PS-1 are the best IMO. I'm unimpressed with the HF-2, mediocre all around.
  5. I'm staying in National Harbor and I'll have a rental car. I wouldn't mind driving up to an hour for a good cd/vinyl record store. Also wouldn't mind recommendations for a very nice restaurant, preferably with a set menu with a good seafood entree.
  6. Thoughts on these? Quad esl 63's For Sale | AudiogoN $2600 w shipping seems a bit steep, but it would be around the cost of broken ESLs plus total reconditioning from Estatsolution. I might call to see if he'll accept offers.
  7. I heard both amps on different sources, but have heard a couple of different ones of each of them. I prefer the Dynahi as well, there is an immediateness/realism to it that made me want to keep listening. It's sort of like comparing high end vinyl to high end digital. They're both great. One of them sounds a lot closer to real music.
  8. must have been at least 10 years or so since I have listened to this
  9. Is anyone using a DIY recipe for record cleaning solution? I just finished up the last of my Disc Doctor and shipping costs for large amounts of this stuff isn't cheap so I'm going to try making my own.
  10. king crimson - lizard, nice uk pim rim first pressing vinyl
  11. Celtics wipe the floor with the Lakers
  12. It has its ups and downs. I've played it quite a bit since release, it's a keeper for me.

    Audeze LCD-2

I thought the HP-1 switches were polarity switches? Hearing speakers out of phase is very distinct. If you have heard them in phase, you should be able to recognize them being out of phase.
  14. I'm on the lowest end Comcast package and I do a lot of downloading/uploading and I have never considered upgrading. I think it's 5-6 mbps down and .5 mbps up in every area. Unless you mean you can get 3 mb service from another provider?
  15. The new Explorer 2010 model is so sexy. Only thing that annoys me is Rolex going with the trend of bigger watch faces (39 mm) Ewww, lightning bolt second hand is fail/gimmick IMO
  16. Deceptive name. Powered by beets.
  17. Hells Kitchen. Get out you donkey! Gordon you have been missed
  18. Sorry Dusty, I think this EP is garbage. It does sound like NIN...NIN at its worst (With Teeth, Year Zero type blandness). At least the stuff on Ghosts was some what interesting. Where the hell is my 10th anniversary Fragile set. We're half way through 2010 already
  19. Fitz that is very cool. Glad you too feel comfortable enough at Head-Case to share this with us. Does this explain the "my ass is so sore" post from ***BRENT*** ? I will still probably be able to kick your ass at Gun Game with a laptop track pad though
  20. As far as ripping engines go dbpoweramp and EAC are identical and what everything else is measured against. The only benefit I see with dbpoweramp as a ripping tool goes is that you can rip discs that are present in the AccurateRip database in burst mode if the CRC match. I don't mind leaving EAC in secure mode and checking CRCs with AccurateRip, it only takes 5-10 minutes longer per disc, really a non-issue on a multiple core CPU. Also with a lot of my CDs, which are using unique or rare mastering dbpoweramp switches to secure mode if there is no AccurateRip info in their database. So it ends up taking the same time or longer than EAC test and copy any way. The batch conversion features in the full version of dbpoweramp are fantastic. But for my uses EAC is fine since I only rip to FLAC.
  21. Raises hand. That's one of the many reasons I'm not going through with it
  22. Heh the electrostat hate from the ortho crew (cough NoNoNoNoNoNo) is funny sometimes. Compensating is a bitch edit: see the -> (I like orthos) and I vaguely remember trying to explain to Al (while drunk) at DanJam why we like them
