1. I will be really surprised if you like the Omens more than the Quads
2. Because when Cutler isn't throwing picks he is getting sacked
3. Selectings from the Heifetz Original Jacket Collection (11 cd version), though nearly all these performances are in the Classic Records 45 rpm road case, too lazy to spin vinyl atm. I am salivating for the 103 CD version coming out in December

Deals

Ehh MusicDirect had a killer "sale" last year- free PS Audio PowerPort (~ $80) with $200 purchase. I will still be suckered into buying some of the Everest Classic Records plus some of the Oistrakh titles I've been eyeing on vinyl. They go straight to spam unless it's an order confirmation.

6. Nate I was biting my nails every time Vick threw a pass to Maclin. Also epic fail 102 bench points for me. All in all good Sunday with Oakland D-man laying out Roethlesberger
7. Zu is releasing a $40k speaker. That is a bizarre price jump from their next cheapest
8. How is the back seat space of a G35x compared to a 2010 WRX?
9. 45 rpm vinyl Classic Records
10. Mother of god not this leather, not leather shit again I hope for your sake Nate doesn't see this
11. I will keep the thread open in case it returns
12. Happy birthday John!!
13. jp get the Impulse! 45 rpm of A Love Supreme. One of my favorite albums and it it sounds killer on 45 rpm, really one of my favorite reissues with the thick gatefold, not the usual crap from AP
14. Walton Facade for ballet Classic Records vinyl. Lovely!
15. Damning with faint praise
16. It has been some time since I've heard a 717, but I believe Birgir has said it was intended by Stax to have a pleasant sonic signature. The distortion I'm referring to with the pro box might be the transformers running out of steam and applying some "compression" (not sure if this is the correct word?) to make things sound more punchy. This is the way I perceive it and I'm quite sensitive to compression applied in music. The Blue Hawaii doesn't do this and can sound more plain in comparison.
17. I have a spritzer modded SRD7 turned pro as well. Fun little box and better than the regular SRD7-pro (without the dreadful stock Stax speaker wires), but doesn't even compare to the Blue Hawaii. This is with a SR-007 MK1. There is some pleasant distortion going on with the pro box, but the BH lays it flat out like it is.

21. That poor tasty sammich
22. Fungus in the AC/heating system? Car talk said that is a common cause of an "unknown odor that just won't go away"
23. No I don't think it is impossible to capture soundstage in studios. A lot of jazz is recorded with closed micing that can still image well. The difference is it is recorded live with all musicians in the same room, whereas most rock instruments are recorded separately, layered and mixed together. There are exceptions to both.
