The replacement bulbs are probably 1/4 cost of the TV. Maybe more when they go OOP.
  3. Happy birthday Haj
  4. I owned only the HD580 and Omega 2 for a very long time (now have the HE60 as well). I used to really hate the HD580 back when I first joined Headfi and owned only Grados. But now I use them a lot with my laptop for internet music streaming.
  5. Hello I would like to demo this headphone with my Blue Hawaii

  7. The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret. I don't think I've laughed this hard since Arrested Development
  8. Where are the most critical resistor locations in the T2?
  9. music matters vinyl. I guess I've had this for close to a year and just found it sitting there unopened
  10. Very nice I like the look of them

    Magnepan 1.7

Parasound JC-2 uses an RK27 and costs $4000, that isn't acceptable IMO. DIY FTW for preamps.
  12. Happy birthday

    Magnepan 1.7

Since creating this thread I've been able to hear the 1.7 in two lengthy auditions. I have to say with more critical listening a couple of things started to really bother me. There is a particular "whiteness" in the 8 KHz and higher region that gave voices an unnatural tone. The imaging also seemed more floaty than normal for Maggies. On one audition we were rotating in the 1.6 and MMG. I actually preferred both of them to the 1.7 (ranked 1.6 > MMG > 1.7). I was really hoping to like them more than the 1.6 since I was still eligible for a full value trade in on my MMGs, but I can't get credit for the 1.6 since they are discontinued I think I'm just going to look for Sound Labs after I move.
  14. Disc Doctor vinyl fluid 1 gallon. My DIY concoctions just aren't as good. I have been good this BF, so far the only thing I've bought as tempting as some of the online deals were gotta keep the spending in control
  15. Nice Is it mainly for comfort or does it improve the sound as well, and do they now isolate like traditional IEMs?
  16. Have a good one!
  17. Staxolences stretch, the first time I have heard this happening with any SR-007
  18. I really do like the new remaster, but the lack of dynamics really bothers me. I'm doing a shootout now on the Maggies, and at ~ 1:12 when Head Like a Hole goes from the "quieter" part to loud its virtually non existent on the remaster. On the TVT I nearly lunged for my volume control to turn it down quickly.
  19. Yeah Arthur's review stirred up controversy and made Lenco prices shoot up as well. It is pretty impressive that he thought the Nantais L75 was better than his Forsell.
  20. No definitely not brick walled, but does have a significant amount of compression compared to the original. Also it might just be peak limited and may not go into clipping. I don't really get the waveform dusty posted. Here is one that might be a bit more clear. Remaster top, original CD bottom (Head Like a Hole)
  21. I was disappointed by how much less dynamic the remaster sounded. There is little dynamic contrast between soft and loud. Otherwise I agree the sound is an improvement for the better and I will probably get the vinyl if less compression is used.
  22. Nate are you going to use a wheel or controller?
  23. Kerry if you (or anyone else) wants it removed it can be done
  24. I thought these things were a joke to stall woot offs
  25. I had a friend listen to the Zus at RMAF and simply said he would be interested to see their measurements. The 22L are really good and Justin said he wasn't too thrilled with the Omen in chat. Thus, my conclusion
