Do Transports Matter--or are bitses bitses?
deepak replied to The Monkey's topic in Home Source Components
Lynx and Transit will both lock on to the Assemblage HDCD filter with HDCD encoded discs. They didn't sound the same. -
Ryan have you seen anything 3D on the VT25? I'm curious how it translates to a much smaller screen vs Imax.

Congrats Jeff. For next year I do like the idea of two divisions if we have 12 again. With 10 a single division is manageable. This league has the most number of bench spots than any other I'm in so even when I was missing out on waivers it didn't affect me much. I would suggest a shorter season, since at week 18 a lot of starters aren't playing if their teams playoff seeding is already set.

Happy birthday guys

I have heard a difference between the Lynx AES16 and an M-Audio Transit as digital transports. The price gap between the two is huge so I stick with my Transit until I can build a silent PC for the PCI card. -
Happy birthday Jacob and happy new year

Anything non-Apple and 23" or 24" (I have searched and haven't found anything by Dell and HP, the usual value leaders)? Good to know that they exist, I wrongly assumed glossy was a no no in the high end panel market.
-
Does anyone know of any IPS panel monitors that have glossy screens?

I am glad no one said Best Coast. Most over rated album ever.

Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladlyland part 1 UK vinyl (Polydor). Pretty awesome alternate cover that was used for the versions of Electric Ladyland that was split into 2 parts. Part 2 has a more boring cover of Jimi's face. Killer sound quality on part 1 and significantly cheaper than what i paid for a first pressing on the Track label.

2010 was all about classical for me. Lots of great rediscoveries for me, so nothing really new. Lots of Everest, Living Stereos, Mercury, Heifetz and Oistrakh. Picked up quite a bit of it on vinyl too, which I always over looked but finding the right stuff just blows my mind how music so delicate can sound so good with what is basically a sharp rock dragging over a piece of plastic I was disappointed with Arcade Fires new album, which I was hoping to love. The National High Violet was very good, but didn't grab me like their others. The new Deerhunter was great, but grew tired of quickly. There is probably more, but those 3 stand out in my head which is clogged up atm.
