  1. It's so good they skipped SR-008?
  2. Condolences Ken, I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.
  3. Getting in a fusion mood thanks to Faust3D's thread revisiting some albums I haven't heard in a while
  4. I have one from my grandfather as well though it's not working and needs to be rebuilt/refurbished and has no watch band. It's going to be really expensive.
  5. I am still drawn in by the 2010 Explorer. It has such a classic timeless (lol) look. I will cave in some time
  6. Al I am behind you on this. Well said. RockCity I'm sorry, but you haven't shown yourself to be a contributing member of this small community that you can show up and start requesting help from KG, Justin, etc. This really isn't a support forum or recommend me forum and like Al says this should have been taken up privately. Here is the welcome PM if you weren't around when it was sent
  7. To be honest I don't hear any difference with the 24/88 files and the redbook layer on the SACDs. These albums weren't really well recorded. From what I understand the high res PCM files are taken from the DSD that was used for the hybrid SACDs. Though those SACDs now command a premium, I don't think I paid more than $15 for any of them when they were in print so the HDTracks pricing is a bit expensive.
  8. I'm reminded of the ridiculously awesome beer you brought to DJ
  9. This album is stunning, one of Blue Note's best. I'm trying to get Joe Harley to add Grachan Moncur III's Some Other Stuff to the MM list
  10. I'd like to add that it was the aliens that visited the Mayans that were on to something
  11. I'm looking to sell my Dynavector 20XL and try another MC, any thoughts on the Ortofon Kontrapunkt A? It is $570 on Ebay new.

http://www.importcds.com/Music/1791215/Living-Stereo-60-Cd-Collection-Box-Living-Stereo-60-Cd-Collection-CD RCA Living Stereo 60 CD box set for $120 + shipping. I believe that is $30 cheaper than amazon's cheapest price.
  13. Happy birthday Fitz, hope it's a good one man!
  14. I think the Emperor would have an easier time than Vader against a whole army of aliens
  15. Is there a way to rescan your library using the Touch device? I've searched high and low through the settings, but I can only find "wipe and rescan" which takes quite a bit longer than the regular scanning that you could do on the Squeezebox 3. I know there is an option to rescan server side through software, but it requires me VNC'ing into my server.
  16. Just curious if you have the T2 pictured in your avatar? If so looking forward to hearing what you think on the DIY-T2 vs Stax T2.
  17. More Charlie Sheen memes pls
  18. Happy birthday Nate
  19. Happy birthday Craig
  20. over wireless. I sneezed in the middle of the test so it's probably slightly higher
  21. It was a cable problem, HD650 cable solved it. I guess hardwiring a cable would be the way to go if the spring eventually fails.
  22. Happy birthday Naaman, welcome back
  23. I don't want to create a new thread for this minor question- I have noticed some crackling in the left side of my HD580, is this an issue with the cable or the connector inside the headphones? I can't remember which one it was but do remember this being an issue back in the day when more people liked Senns I don't have any other cables to test it out with.
  24. Any thoughts on either a Cary SLM-100 or Cary V12 amp for use with the ESL63? The hunt for the ESL63 is back on!
  25. I thought Stax prices were high a couple of years ago It's strange how headphone gear (headphones and amps) has maintained (or increased) its value in the last several years, while the rest of hifi sales in used and new market are way down.
