I love this quote. Truly the old school mentality of hard work that I see in so many older gentlemen in my field of work. That is lost on my generation (including myself).
Oh the woes of rampant piracy
Load up the album in Foobar2000, highlight all tracks, right click then properties. Add in parenthesis in the album name field the extra details.
Core i7 and 8 GB of RAM is very high end as far as console specs go. If it's not running any OS or anything in the background...
If it's true it would be great. More competition for Sony, MS, and Nintendo is always good.
Very cool. My dad operated on a kid that had about 1/2" of his thumb sawn off in a high school shop. Crazy thing is my dad is a family physician, but in a town of 1000 people in rural Canada the closest surgeon would have been 2.5 hours away. He was a registrar in gen surg in England so he had no problem with the surgery (I think he was immediately transferred to university hospital afteward)
Pretty much feel the same way (though no tape playback, but hope to rectify that). Though I'm really satisfied with my digital and use it quite a bit. Doubt it will ever change.
My guess is they are targeting the speaker crowd familiar with the Bryston brand and are new to headphones. So they buy the headphones and amp at the same time and send their phones off to Bryston who make some money off the recable.
I gotta agree with Beefy that gain is insane. Even crazier if you have a 4v balanced source. Unless they are using some non-standard attenuation curve pot.
The Aleph guy had a another person that could have picked them up sooner than me so they are sold. But I think these are the amps that I'm going to go with.

The Aleph P was one of the best preamps I owned; never should have sold that.
OT: but Audiogon really sucks now. You can't even reply to them by email since it is a "no-reply" email sent from Audiogon when the question is answered instead of coming from the seller's email.
Not sure what you mean here? R1 drivers are no longer made, and why would an R2 owner want to "downgrade" to R1 drivers?
If you meant it the other way around, they were offering people that bought the LCD-2 R1 in a time frame near the R2 release to send their phones in to get the R2 upgrade (free).
Yes he is. I didn't know there was a ferry from southern CT to Long Island, so this is becoming more attractive now.
I would think an F5 Turbo v2/v3 would also be pretty nice, but another amp that would require monster heatsinking and a level of complication beyond my skills.
