  1. For the espresso machine I think I have an 850XL or 860XL, I have not tried any others, but that machine makes damn good espresso, but does need to be babied and cleaned often. When I was doing my research it didn't sound like there were many great cheaper machines so I just went for it. I can try out the grinder and let you know how it is, I had owned the Bodum beforehand so I have never used the one in the Breville Anyone had Tanzania Peaberry or Timor Maubesse from OBR?
  2. Are you planning to make espresso? If not there is very little difference between my cheapy Mr Coffee and Bodum Bistro for just coarse grind that goes into the Aero. For consistent fine grind the Bistro is really nice.
  3. Great work Doug!
  4. Two years in the making, DJ Food, DJ Cheeba, DJ Moneyshot completely remix Beastie Boys Pauls Boutique http://www.frank151.com/blog/2012/08/31/this_track_by_track_pauls_boutique_recreation_is_the_perfect_soundtrack_for_your_hol Download here: Good stuff
  5. Someone that has high efficiency speakers needs to take a flier on the SIT-2 (heck maybe a K1000 user even) I'm pretty excited that Nelson said in 6moons the SIT-1s might make their way into the higher power Pass amps
  6. Colin are you in vizzle withdrawal yet? I did some vizzling this evening, really nice after a weekend of greasy subs. Sous-vide low temperature chicken with a small bit of the korma vacuum sealed in. Then a quick flash grilling. It was very moist and tasty. Pics after we had ate most of it :'(
  7. If your speakers can do with that much power, then do it!
  8. Happy birthday Jim, I hope you had a great day with the family!
  9. I will do the sportsman like thing and offer up Brent a pre-emptive congrats for beating me I was in Philly for the weekend and didn't realize JC's knee issue wasn't as big as reports were making it, and last checked ESPN FF on Friday morning.
  10. Will do, thanks. Though at this point I am still more interested in their commercial offerings.
  11. You are one sick dud Also it's probably the least interesting FW amp to me, personally I am more interested in the amps that are more to the FW ethos. Excited to see where this SIT stuff goes, though sadly I've seen Nelson nix the idea that they will get used in the higher power amps.
  12. Thought I'd start a thread to discuss these fine (and other solid state) amps. I'm interested in some 100 watt or greater amps. I love reading the Pass DIY forums and seeing all the cool stuff Nelson comes up with. Unfortunately I have a love affair with pain in the butt to drive speakers so I am left with mostly their commercial offerings. My first question is what would be the big difference between an Aleph 2 and XA100.5 as far as sound goes? And about the XS150, has anyone heard them or have insights into their design? Do you think any of the Aleph or XA.5 amps can provide adequate voltage for V hungry electrostatic speakers, especially on very dynamic music? That's all for now
  13. Happy birthday 'stretch, hope it was a good one!!
  14. That would be a shame if Bluto cancelled
  15. I wanted to rent a Demo 8. No LBS rented those, but the Trek/Giant LBS guy I kept in touch with has a Session 88 he held for me
  16. Thank you everyone. I had a fun time last night with my girlfriend and my best friend and his wife. in my defense I am going to the LBS now to rent a downhill bike. Not planning anything too crazy, just riding some of the not too steep technical downhill stuff. I've been looking forward to it all week... I am sucker for long travel bikes
  17. oh patrick82
  18. Happy birthday!
  19. I can adjust the volume on my Nano using the line-out. So it could be the same as the HP out. But you are right the psychology of it is going to do some audiophiles' heads in (I don't want to double amplify with a headphone out to amp!!)
  20. Headfi cable makers sweating bullets... this is pretty funny
  21. Just curious why you say that, what do you have your transformer spec'd at?
  22. Who's the jerk that suggested PPR? Lets roast him I do think it makes things more balanced and not super running back heavy (at least the ones that mostly play fullback). It rewards more receivers instead of just the stand out top 10/15/whatever.
  23. deepak

    Deals

    Thanks knucks!
  24. Aaron Hernandez is beast and gets glanced over too much (IMO). On any other team he would be a super well known TE. anyone picking up RG III in first week waver?
  25. Good ol David Akers doing me good again (63 yd fieldgoal ) 9ers need to give him playmaker salary
