I don't think the current season is any better than the last couple. Though it's still watchable. I'm a picky SOB when it comes to TV

They're really unbelievable on vinyl. This isn't an exaggeration when I say even going from the really good first pressing Japan CDs to early pressing UK vinyl on my friend's horn setup the sound goes from sounding flat to everything just jumping out at you and filling the room. It's too bad the UK vinyl in good shape sells for lots of money

Cream - Wheels of Fire (disc 1, DCC gold) Dennis Wilson - Pacific Ocean Blue IMO the remasters are just terrible. They sound very artificial and 'tinny'. The original CD releases are the complete opposite and in a few cases dark and muddy sounding (this is mostly the European discs, the first pressing Japan discs are good. This is a generalization and it can go either way). Though they still manage to sound more natural compared to the remasters. Sabbath has to be heard on vinyl. Just one of those bands that didn't get treated well on digital \

Or white gold if you have the week off and planning to hit the slopes

I think this is just one of those phenomena that could have happened with any piece of gear. I'm still in the market for vintage since there are only a few modern DACs that use the PCM1704, and the good ones that do are $5000+. To the OP, my suggestion still stands...

Yup it's the size of an LP cover. And weighs about as much as ~ 3-4 double 180 gm LPs

I cracked the seal on my copy of "Quad: The Closest Approach" and the book is simply exceptional. The presentation is wonderful (and heavy ), great pictures and all around good read. I was not expecting it to be so substantial.

I'm going to suggest the obvious, but did you try replacing the tubes? Or swapping tubes to see if the distortion moves to the other channel?

I'll check that out.

That sort of sounds like a Pentium M? (Centrino) IIRC I remember reading the 1.8 GHz Pentium M was roughly equivalent to the Socket 478 Pentium 4 3.06 GHz.

Bit more on modded T50RP vs modded HP-1. The Yamaha midrange is just so addictive and good. It's not as extended top or bottom, but the mids are so yummy (my second favorite mids in a headphone, and I am ranking them over the K1000). Tonally the T50RP is a bit strange. Playing back piano pieces, the tone sounds off. That's the best way I can describe it, like everything sounds a half octave or octave off. Piano is it's biggest pitfall and interestingly this doesn't manifest itself so much on other instruments though it's still there. Both are great rock headphones, but like my favorite SR-007, the Yamaha has more finesse over the Fosty
