Question about how Amarra handles security- does the USB key send an authenticity certificate to their server when iTunes is opened or something? Does it require the computer to be online in order to use the software?

This was announced some time in June. They put up samples of the upcoming album on their Myspace page today: Porcupine Tree on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads The stream quality is not very good, but I enjoyed what I heard A review from a listening session can be found here. Also it sounds like a 5.1 DVD-A is confirmed, which more than likely means a high res stereo PCM track on the same disc.

I thought Cog had a really ugly interface (especially with huge playlists), I'd use itunes over it.

Right, that's fine for you. I was addressing "foobar is only popular because it helps fix what sucks about windows music stuff" (Ayre's website even recommends other players that defeat Windows Kmixer as well). that's not the only reason it's popular.
