My Zu Mobius cable for my HD650/HD600's is silver. It makes the HD650/HD600's sound brighter than the Equinox, Cardas and standard cables which are copper.

"I thought it sounded fantastic with the LCD-3 but it was slightly bright with my HE-500 + silver dragon cable. " Try a copper cable on the HE500. Silver = bright.

Hey Jose, Justin offers free international shipping and velour pads, and will also sell you a Headamp GS-X.
-
Now you need a good balanced class A amp to run them. See Justin about the new GSX.......
-
what is the accepted standard on balanced terminations from source to amp?

You buy the cable, you get the oxygen for free...... -
"I don't think there ever was any Germanium sand that could handle 1500V..." That's why you need to run about 10 devices in series....... ":) My plan is for a spud electrostatic amp with just two triodes and DHT's at that. I know ETF.12 had a competition along these lines but I'm going to be far stricter to myself. No push-pull, current sources, parallel tubes etc. Just transformer, triode and transformer... " Team Overkill lives..... An instance when less is moar..

No, just more time to finish the two KGSSHV's in between job-hunting.

"Where can I get the wireless version from?" Buy the normal one and cut off the cord".

"While on the subject, an even crazier amp design crept into my head this morning which will be even more expensive and ludicrous. " Let me guess... A solid state version of the DIYT2 using using series germanium sand with oil-filled paper & teflon caps.

"Definitely alive and very busy with work. Same with me. Hopefully this will change for both of us Soon " Hope this doesn't mean you'll be made redundant as I was at the end of November.......

You could use a spike and attack it through the screw holes. Or, get an old small screwdriver and bend the end of the blade about 3mm from the end. Force the blade between the back of the speaker flange and the panel and pull toward you. You may have to work your way around each screwhole in turn until the speaker comes out. Any damage will be hidden when the speaker is remounted properly. -
Either way, it's no show-stopper....

Nice porcelain sockets should fix that.

Thanks for ali you who have expressed your support to help me get the parts. The situation has been resolve earlier. I was just posting to show the costs faced when living outside of the USA. I have had help from forum members for LSK389's and other bits like IXYS parts. The Peek screws was a classic debacle. I ordered them. I was given a con note for tracking. I checked the tracking number a couple days later and it said the stuff was delivered to an address in Chicago but was not accepted. The terms of the delivery were no return - abandon. In other words, if you can't deliver, chuck the parcel in the bin. A day later I received a email asking for more money for shipping. I showed them the results of the tracking number they sent and asked what happened to my consignment. They said they would ship out another batch. I received a parcel with the screws a few days later.. A couple more days later I received another parcel with a second lot of screws. I emailed them asking about the situation regarding the second lot of screws and the extra shipping costs. They said they had dropped the case and they were happy to leave things as they were. As regards the Stax plug. I wanted one to convert one of my Senn HE60's to Stax. I put one in the order basket at Moon Audio. I followed the link for shipping costs. When I saw the costs I cancelled the order. I got one from Allied, I think, and did the conversion.

I believe they use a packing & shipping agent as well as using express shipping. I had the same problem when buying 12mm x m3 peek screws. It was $56 for 100- plus $86 postage. I phoned the seller and asked if they could ship by surface mail as I was in no rush. They replies that the packing and delivery was farmed out, and they were locked in to the system.

Falu red, or Caput Mortuum. Or for the sensitive eye, perhaps a nice shade of Gamboge

How about a cute boysenberry, or perhaps, puce.
