  2. So, do you think thelostmidrange lost it?
  3. How about one on the new "Dupont Freon" amp that sounds cold, but significantly adds to global warming?
  4. Why nmot an Alpha pot?
  5. Watch them chemtrails and nuclear power stations, dude. They add to the sonic pleasure of your listening. thelostmidrange may be the full quid, but is he a counterfeit?
  6. A new take on the Faraday cage, perhaps?
  7. The Cavalli Liquis Gold thread on the other site has been locked after some posts about build quality concerns. I know at least one post was deleted from when I last saw it and it being locked. Just sayin'
  8. As far as looks go, it looks like an audio mausoleum. Needs the Abyss headphones for the contrast.
  9. Impedance matching can cure a multitude of audio woes.
  10. If it is inconvenient, you can count on it.
  11. I have the DT880 '05 which isn't as linear as the DT880 '03. The DT880 '03 is the better allrounder, but, on some songs the DT880 '05 just "SINGS". That's why I still have it. The DT880 Pro is one I don't know about, as I haven't heard it, but from what I understand, it's similar the the DT880 '03. YMMV, as usual. I like the HD600 more.
  12. I have 3 pairs. One goes to a nephew today. I use one connected to the computer. A Pioneer SE-A1000 isn't too bad for the price, but not quite as resolving as the HD600. The Pioneer has a 6 metre cord, and is quite comfortable, and a lot easier to drive.
  13. Fair dinkum, oldie, since when does it become a crime to expose second-rate workmanship on a second-rate circuit that's housed in a good looking case and charged an arm and a leg for the privelege of owning it..?? Would you be happy to own one, having paid full price for it, and then shown the level of workmanship inside? If so, then you don't have enough smarts to see what's going on. If not, then you would be backing Birgir's expose - and you'd be free to let Alex know what you think of his product's design and build quality control.
  14. Right. Brain fade, as usual....
  15. Perhaps, in oldie's case, senility is indicated...........
  16. With the c4686 parts you have a 450V limit in the supplies With the IXYS parts you can go to 500V in the supplies.
  17. In the Canjam walkaround video about the 4 min mark it shows Cavalli's new prototype electrostatic amp. http://audio-head.com/rocky-mountain-audiofest-part-3-canjam/ Hang on, do we really need to know this..??
  18. You pay 4.8K US shekels for a nice looking case and a bespoke knob. BARGAIN.....

Is this what the eXstatA should have been?
  22. Posted by Currawong Maybe the careful investigation could be done by Kevin & Birgir. Just a thought....... tee hee. I well remember the exstata thread over there and that every one of the Stax Mafia's suggestions were discounted by reason of unnecessarily raising the cost of the project due to raising the parts/cost count. Things like a CCS instead of a resistor which would have made a good improvement were negated even though the cost difference wasn't a big difference. Edited beause initially my browser wouldn't allow some scripts access to the toolbar. Fixed.
  23. Yotta factorial fail.
  24. Keep on trucking.... It,s worth the trouble.
  25. Would you say the LL is better than the King Sound amps? The King Sounds have SMD......
