  1. But, he does provide entertainment value.
  2. You need 4 of these puppies for a balanced little unit. Just the thing for your Grado SR60's. Possibly even drive a HE6. http://www.halcro.com/productsDM88.php
  3. Craig, quit while you're behind - when you're in a hole, don't dig.
  4. Mine has a normal bias as well as 2 pro bias...... Moar is bettah......
  5. I don't see Tiny Tim or Homer & Jethro in that lineup.. Tragic, really.........
  6. If i remember correctly they were the tubes in the eXstatA he designed without the helpful aid proffered by all the more knowleged personnel involved in that project. That was before he decided to build the Liquid series of amps. I still can't get over his decision to have a power supply for the eXstatA that was designed for newbie builders and that didn't have protection to stop the supply going unfunctional if it was powered up without a load. I wonder how many supplies went west while their voltages were being dialed in when the load resistor went OC because the power rating was marginal, or was operated without a load. The few extra components to make the supply able to stand without a load, or uprate the load resistor would have meant more builds in service. The idea of making the build as cheap as possible for newbies was fraught with peril for the intended audience, and probably turned off budding DIYers in the process.
  7. ear, ear... (must be said with a cockney accent).
  8. Any one of these may fill the bill, but I'd recommend something a little more upmarket.. http://www.higherfi.com/spkrlist/speakerlist.php

  11. So, the only difference is that the higher current units' sound signatures would be only discernible by dogs, cats and bats.......
  12. Would it be a good idea to put the current bias on the back panel eg. 5,5mA, 10mA or 14 mA etc...? Concealed bragging rights for the win....
  13. How come you don't have KGSSHV emblazoned on the front panel? Perhaps 14mA bias version with "KGSSHV - Mini Case - Max Power" would look good above the Volune control...
  14. You shoiuld have directed him to an audiologist or the other forum..
  15. Perhaps pigskin pads are indicated.........
  16. Putting lipstick on a pig, methinks.

Folks, we've been trumped by this piece of teutonic wizardry which will trump anything here or HeadAmp builds - or most surely not. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Diy-kit-OTL-superlative-highend-tube-headphone-amp-for-dyn-electrostatic-/171368973396?pt=DE_Elektronik_Computer_TV_Video_Elektronik_Verst%C3%A4rker&hash=item27e6630454
