I haven't had the pleasure of listening to these phones. Hopefully they will make it to a meet stateside someday.

I replaced a SumR transformer on my first build and no problems after that. Free of charge. Richard mentioned something about problems with the first unit so I bought the Megatron transformer from him. It works well without load. Will see how it works when completed.
-
That is the reason I sold mine and bought the 009. I may buy the latest version eventually.
-
OK, then: 1- the Neutrik Powerkon for the raw mains going to the filament transformers. 2- the 8 pin Amphenol for the main transformer.
-
You mean you are installing all the filament transformers in the amplifier, not in the power supply box?
-
I was thinking on using these Amphenol connectors for the umbilical cord: MS3106F28-12S http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=MS3106F28-12Svirtualkey65400000virtualkey654-MS3106F28-12S and MS3102A28-12P http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=MS3102A28-12Pvirtualkey65400000virtualkey654-MS3102A28-12P

Last time I saw Ray, I remember him being a little heavier

That is a beautiful build. Congratulations!

I have never used tubes before, so I am a complete novice when it comes to filaments. Thank you Kevin and Victor for putting up with my dense lack of knowledge... Here are the transformers and wiring I am using for my build. The transformers are all Triad Magnetics and their product # is in the PDF file. Feel free to berate me if I screwed up https://www.dropbox.com/s/75av9kajl6zin6u/Megatron%20tube%20transformers.pdf

I don't see how that would change the sound. Actually is more convenient having to deal will less cables.
-
But without the fun of building it!

So you made holes on the top panels for the LED's? Time to use my Hakko 808
-
Well, my PSU powered up without a hitch: +456V, -452V; +15.15V, -14.86V Will test the amplifier in next few days. Don't have the 6Ca7's yet and missing one small transformer. For me, the most difficult part is always the casing. Never mind the dirty filter The transformer is SumR

Very nice Kerry. The small size is very appealing.

The same guy has emailed me too. Good thing he is not a Mod in here
-
Are you permanently persona non grata or just temporarily?
-
Those people at head-fi drive me nuts. They are so full of s**t they stink the whole place.
-
I am in for may be 3 dozens of the new parts. Thanks Birgir

Birgir. Those amps are quite nice. And there is a market for them. I wish you could outsell the Cavally crap.
