Damn... Late to the Woodie discussion thread. I feel it's probably going to be a variant of the W5000 line since it isn't like celebrating their half century anniversary. AT might just do what they did with the W10 line, just put out a W5000LTD or something along the same line. Maybe a driver, housing change, or even the packaging. I don't think they would go as far as putting Echizan laquer on the Ebony wood (I don't know if that follows the traditional Japanese craftsmanship)

What's your guilty pleasure when it comes to music listening? Any musicians that you enjoy which would possbily be frowned upon by other? To me, W5000 and W2002 are similar but yet different in certain aspects, I feel W5000 is more of a matured version of W1000. It's almost like AT set out to produce a headphone, and W1000 being the prototype and the W5000 being the complete package. W2002 has more warmth, and more fuzz than the W5000's more resolute signature and more even sounding across the frequency spectrum. W2002 seems to be a bit edgy sounding with more emphasis towards the higher frequency range. This to a degree gets 'equalised' with the HA2002 amp, but it doesn't make a night and day difference. I find two people duke it out with swords far more audience attracting then two people wearing funny shades getting anxious over an 'all-in' or a 12 y.o. battling to spell out some sadisitcly long greek-latin-then-thousand-years-ago-used-to-be English word. Overlunge

AT-HA2002 will do the trick But eh, I personally feel some warmth would go a long way with the more analytical sounding side of the ATH-W (10LTD), but making VTG sound warmer more euphonic won't go astray either. I tried W10LTD with Earmax Pro with the stock tubes and I liked it... Overlunge
