Not so absurd. I have two old sr-003s and nowadays I am using them for movies with a carbon. They are not perfect I am thinking about refurbish them. Cleaning, rebias, repair the contacts etc. Any experience ?
-
Change the bias in any Stax ore Gilmore is easy what has to be done yet? Limit the voltage swing? Ooh, sorry... A joke
-
You are right but are there good enough closed headphones at all? I have never heard the 4070 but they say it is not the best stax. Maybe depends on the music you usually listen too.
-
I can endure the bleeding if it has the quality. So an sr-007 with the portable or it is not possible an sr-003 with highs.
-
I think we are glad because you inform us. We beleive you with cause. What about a quality portable amp or is it not possible at all?

Arrived too. I will never understand the US Post the package was here at Budapest on 25th by the tracking where was after? There was my other packet went back and forth on the Los Angeles San Francisco line for almost a month instead of coming to Hungary. Was not possible to change its way. Not the Hungarian Post Office was so perfect.

My sr-007 not farts I have not done the port mod I was curious but did not feel it necessary. The original pads are soft and seal fairly well so I think they are ok with glasses, not much difference. The newer spare pads are harder so no glasses. ? The old Lambda Signatures were noisy and the little sr-003s.
-
No fart with glasses( I have too) they are not sealed. Any differences in the sound you hear ?

The lasts from PJ were SZ2, mine is for example.I bought from there because I wanted the new diaphragm too. I do not know this is true or not, PEEK or mylar, etc... Spritzer always tells there is no real system in the serials.
-
Why, the newest what I heard about were sz2 or there is a new version or new serial system?
-
About clean room. My sr007 had developed an imbalance and when I inspected the drivers I found grey hair under the dustcovers. Not only one piece, was it human hair or from the brush of the Stax technician I do not know. The headphones came from PJ but Stax repaired them after some effort they had replaced both driver. I am not sure either the hair was the cause of the imbalance. I have the picture of a piece of hair somewhere.

From where? Audocubes2 does not exist and there were no Stax parts on Audiocubes in the last years or I missed something?
