Just get a Squeezebox, it's analog outs aren't great but you can always get a dac to use with it later. It's pretty simple to setup and works really well.
That's about as impractical as it gets for headphone amps and again if your going to spend that much just get a speaker rig .
As to the TTVJ/Millett amp, I'm ok with the industrial look as long as it sounds good. But really the idea of a $5k headphone amp just doesn't make much sense to me.
Every now and then I see someone mention they aren't getting new post e-mail notifications or new pm e-mail. So if this is ever happens to you send me a PM with the e-mail address attached to your account here.
Dusty, your not looking at it correctly, the Oppo is setup to be a usb host (just like your computer is). You can hook up other usb devices like hd's or memory sticks but you can't connect it to another host device (your computer) and stream stuff to it.
Honestly with Pioneer announcing they are dropping out of the Plasma TV arena your best bet would be going with an LCD and I agree with the recommendations of the samsung led lcd's and the sony bravia's. One thing to be aware of very few if any TV's have DVI inputs anymore so you'll have to use a DVI-HDMI cable for any existing gear you have that uses DVI. Oh and Blu-ray has already won
I must admit I find it hard to believe that you would make your first post on a forum something so detailed including pictures that practically reads like an ad unless you were in some way connected to the developer.
Well they announced push-email and exchange support for the iPhone yesterday should be huge for helping it get into the enterprise market a little more. Of course it also helps that blackerry has had two nationwide outages in the past month .
Personally I'm waiting for the 3G version to come, EDGE is so fucking slow it's unbelievable.
They could drop the price by a $100 now and still have pretty high margins, however as long as sales numbers keep meeting expectations we won't see a price job till a refresh in the lineup. Probably sometime in the summer when they finally get around to releasing a 3G iPhone.
Yeah I wouldn't put anything you can't afford to lose on that RAID 0 array. One thing you might want to try, is getting some dynamat sheets and covering as much of the interior of the case as you can with them.
Honestly some of you guys have the worst luck with shipping, I can thing of maybe one or two instances where I've received something damaged and if I recall correctly both packages weren't packed nearly well enough. Given I never shipped anything UPS but I receive stuff from them fairly often and have never had a problem.
