After waiting for the painfully slow download from MSDN I was able to install the RTM of Windows 7 (ultimate x64 version). I didn't have any blank dvd's around so I installed it from a usb thumb and I really think it's the way to go. The install only took 10-15 minutes. Some early thoughts on Windows 7, it's definitely snappier than Vista, especially when it comes to UI affects and such. I should mention that 7 had drivers for everything in my laptop which was nice. I like the new taskbar it's refined and the UI affects actually improve overall usability.

thats what i get for being too general . in some case keys only work with vendor specific oem discs/iso's.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the Pre hits Verizon in the first couple weeks of January. I know Sprint keeps claiming they have a longer exclusive deal but I'm doubting that.

I'll post more later, but I think what surprised me the most about the HD800 is their lack of distortion, very Stax like in that regard. I was also a little bit concerned about the bass, but that has turned out to be unwarranted. The HD800 produce deep, strong bass that's articulate and very textured. It doesn't have l3000, ps1 or O2 levels of impact but they are punchy when they need to be.

1gig of ram is kinda pushing it for Vista, even if you turn off all the visual effects and basically make it look like XP.
