  1. That's fixed, the mod that creates that page got very confused when I removed the download mod.
  2. In preparation for the upcoming upgrade from vB 3.8 to vB 4 I'll be doing a bit of house cleaning. So you might see some functionality loss as I remove plugins/mods that are no longer supported or have features that are built into vB 4. I'll provide a date and time for when the upgrade will occur as I get closer to being ready.
  3. I don't feel so bad for Conan anymore, he's about to wrap up a dealing paying him $40 million for leaving.
  4. I sold mine as well, don't regret it at all.
  5. So Conan's last episode will be next Friday the 22nd unless NBC boots him earlier. Looks like Leno was full of shit, and was just pretending to leave to gain some leverage for the new contract he was working on to go back to The Tonight Show.
  6. Sounds like Leno might be right behind Conan leaving NBC... Jay Leno May Walk Out of NBC, Too | PopEater.com
  7. Be interesting to see if Google can actually stay in China while providing uncensored search results. I kinda doubt it, but I like that they are threatening to pull out of China if they aren't allowed to.
  8. NBC has been poorly run for quite some time now, and the pure cost-cutting move of bringing Leno back for the 10pm slot could possibly go down as the worst move in broadcast TV history. It was NBC throwing in the towel saying, "ok we can't compete let's spend as little money as possible." I do think Conan has struggled since taking over the tonight show, they should have just kept the same format/feel of his old show.
  9. You could always just ask Craig....

thanks for getting that fixed, just booked my room from 3rd - 7th @ the discounted rate
  11. In my experience with sub cables, getting a shielded one is probably a good idea.
  12. too funny.... Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio - View Single Post - Why not to accept "gifts" on paypal when selling items on paypal
  13. Google checkout had a chance when their fees where about half of what paypal's are but then they upped their fees to be about the same. Very stupid idea.

    Palm Pre

FYI Palm announced the Palm Pre Plus today, it's Verizon exclusive available on Jan. 25th. Storage is bumped up to 16gig and they appear to have made a few other smaller changes to the hardware (the center button is gone and the slider function seems improved). Couple other Pre related announcements, full 3d games coming soon and an official mobile hotspot app from Palm.
  15. I thought Comcast DVR's were getting Tivo software sometime this year?

    gPhone

If it's even an IP issue, Palm certainly has multi-touch w/ the Pre....

There's a couple 3rd party browsers for Android that have added multi-touch support since the Droid came out. Be nice to have it system wide of course, but web browsing is probably where it's most useful.
  18. Kindle DX has global wireless now Amazon.com: Kindle DX Wireless Reading Device (9.7" Display, Global Wireless, Latest Generation): Kindle Store

Not sure how the droid is overly thick when it's pretty much exactly the same thickness as an iphone. But yeah if you don't need the keyboard then the Eris makes some sense, as it's also cheaper.
  20. Yeah that tends to happen when a company uses a shitty shared hosting account. Probably got booted for some random excess usage, either that or they didn't pay a bill.
  21. couple weeks ago put a down payment in for one of these:

i still think it's stupid they are debuting it on t-mobile. at least its hitting verizon in the spring.
  23. Seems like a worthless rant to me, any movie that more than a few people would ever want is very likely out on dvd. DVD's should last for a very long time if they are handled properly. The real problem with getting older and smaller films onto new formats isn't the new formats its the piss poor quality and lack of availability of the original source material. Before the rise of dvd there really wasn't much financial incentive to keep source material in good quality as the studios figured they'd never make anymore money once the theater runs ended. So often times the originals were tossed in some warehouse to be lost forever. With dvd and now blu-ray and digital distribution the studios actually have financial incentive to keep their originals in good quality (or likely in some digital format backed-up in several locations). So while not much can be done about films of the past, it's a very good sign for the films of today.
  24. happy b-day jacob
  25. reported heart muscle problems, nothing immediately life-threatening but he is done coaching.
