  1. how does it run with just one stick of the new ram in? also if you haven't already check for any bios updates.
  2. Yep went with the 3G one.
  3. I finally bought a Kindle
  4. color e-ink displays are still probably at least a year away.
  5. Count me in if it's Dec. 3-5 or 10-12
  6. So use firefox, chrome or opera instead? Or upgrade to the IE9 beta, its much better than IE8. Yeah the formatting wasn't right after the 4.08 upgrade, as the upgrade changed the way things are formatted. So I disabled it while figuring out the new formatting, it's back now. Easy enough to fix, just deleted the user .
  7. The update to 4.0.8 didn't go smoothly today, the styling on the bottom section (who's online) etc is currently broken. Working on fixing it now, PM me if you notice anything else wrong.
  8. Nope I didn't see that, I'll have to back through the RMAF thread. The Nova just seems like such a steal considering everything it includes, I think it'll work out nicely.
  9. Going to use it with the Selah Monitors, should be a nice little bedroom rig.
  10. I've always managed ok with good all-season tires. Though you guys do get a lot more snow up there, so I suppose if you've got the budget for it snow tires might make some sense.
  11. FYI, the windows 7 family pack is available again now - Amazon.com: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade Family Pack (3-User): Software
  12. I wonder how much of a savings you'd have seen with a smaller regular gas water heater. Given I just live in a 1 and half bath townhouse but my gas bill during the summer has been like $10 a month max and I have a 40-gallon gas water heater. I'm guessing its at least decently efficient since it was installed in 2008. I can't imagine I'd see much if any savings using a tankless system. I'm all for being green, but this seems like one of those things that sounds nice but costs a ton more up-front with no guarantee of ever saving anything. Unless it really only makes sense for a specific usage pattern? Who knows.
  13. Are you sure your current one is only 15 gallons? That seems awful small, and is probably why you run out of hot water during showers. I wouldn't bother with the tankless or high-effieciency models your looking at. Why pay $2000 for something like that when you can buy a regular gas one for $500?
  14. Hey Wes, that's pretty damn shady, especially if they didn't mention the policy before you sent the dac in. I can understand why you won't go after them about it as I can imagine the shitstorm that could follow, but I appreciate you letting us know.
  15. new-thread tweets are working again.
  16. In a quest to stop drinking soft-drinks I think I'm going to give coffee a try. Any suggestions on a mild coffee for a first-time coffee drinker?
  17. you can't use the new appletv, it's made for streaming so no you can't connect an external hd to it. you'd have to get the older appletv. or go with my readynas idea, there are iphone/itouch apps available for controlling squeezeboxes as well if that is partly what sold you on the appletv idea.
  18. check out some of the netgear ReadyNAS devices, you can install a version of the slimserver (squeezebox server software) directly on some of them, so there'd be no need for a pc other than initial setup.
  19. Kevin has just been given a timeout for a couple days, he'll be back soon enough.

    Kitty Talk

So I got a new kitten a few weeks ago, say hi to Jax:
  21. Nope, actually sold off all the headphone gear shortly after I moved back at the end of march. I have recently added a pair of d7000s and a maple tree audio amp, but that's more just to have a headphone rig for when speaker listening isn't practical.
  22. I should probably update my sig at somepoint, I actually don't own any of the headphone gear listed there anymore .
  23. The D7000s are pretty fun phones, and quite a bit different than the 650s. They can also be had pretty cheap new compared to say the T1s or HD800s.
