    Pretzel Forum!!

Pretzels do make the world go round in an indirect way. You see Bunnies eat pretzels, and lots of them and as you know the Bunnies are proliferating and taking over the world. The pretzels are just coming along for the ride as bunny fuel.
  2. Don't feel like starting my own thread yet so heres a pic of my slightly different than stock Slam PPX3 that arrived on saturday:
  3. This is one sickness I'll be glad to avoid, luckily my lazyness will stop me from ever getting into vinyl.
  4. You could also just get quicktime alternative: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/QuickTime_Alternative.htm
  5. Well thats some good news. I'm almost tempted to get one, almost.
  6. You might also want to give Patricia Burns a call, shes the parts manager for AKG USA: Patricia Burns 615-620-3832
  7. Jason, I see no reason why they wouldn't they seem to be like Beyer in that they will sell you any part you want.
  8. Wow I have to say thats impressive that they still repair a pair of headphones that old, but impressive has been par for the course in my experience with AKG's support.
  9. I just don't think many people have heard the HeadCode and it is a very expensive amp that most people probably couldn't afford if they wanted too.

    They're here

Here's another question to toss out, for someone who finds the RS-1's bright, would they find the GS1K's bright as well?

Congrats Hirsch they look great, I'd really appreciate any comparisons to L3000s if you get a chance .
  12. Nice work Nate, the case looks glorious.
  13. Theres much more to it than that
  14. I'm betting its John Tucker
  15. I voted for other because I think it really depends on the situation. If you live in a pretty new area or close to a power station your power is likely to be pretty decent and if nothing else you probably get a pretty stable 120V and power conditioning won't give you and significant improvements. If your in my situation where power outages are fairly common and haven't seen 120V anytime recently I think power conditioning can make a pretty big difference. Which brings me to my question, with summer approaching which means voltages in 105V and less range would I be better off getting a power conditioner that does voltage regulation and brings the voltage up to 120V no matter what the input voltage is? Or would I see a bigger difference going with a balanced power conditioner?
  16. Man that wait really sucks I hope it sounds fantastic and doesn't break again when you finally get it back.
  17. Hmm thats a rather strange extended warranty Tweeter has, I know the ones best buy has almost always result in them giving you a new unit no questions asked and in fact that is even one of their big selling points on it.
  18. Haha
  19. Round 2.... Soundstaging and imaging... Both the Tylers and the Europas have wide soundstages and precise imaging the similarities pretty end right there. The Tylers have far better soundstage depth and I think largely because of that present a more realistic and cohesive soundstage/presentation that completely envelopes the listener.
  20. Yeah it looks like a Dialogue II with a tube output stage and maybe some other upgraded parts. I've heard a stock Dialogue II and unless this is a drastic improvement its no competition for the MAX Dac.
  21. Just sell a few more cables that should cover it . I hope the 3910 gets fixed correctly this time around I hear really good things about Exemplar modded ones.
  22. Well I finally have my Europa's back from repair tonight and before they get shipped off to their new owner on Monday I figured I'd take some time to jot down how they compare to my Tyler Acoustic Linbrook Sigs. When the Europa's were my main speakers probably the biggest factor in wanting to upgrade was a lack of bass. I was able to confirm that lack of bass pretty soon after my comparison began tonight. While the Europa does well with the leading edge of bass notes (for instance bass guitar or kick drums) they fail pretty miserably at having the proper weight behind those instruments. For comparison sake listening to bass guitars and kick drums on the Tylers is a much more visceral experience. They sound much more palpable and realistic, with the Tylers they sound like actual instruments as opposed to sounding like the reproduction of an instrument as they do on the Europas. It's hard for me to describe this phenomenon but hopefully you get the point. The Europas bass also doesn't go very deep, they are spec'd to be 50hz -3db and that sounds about right and it's very easy to hear what’s missing when switching back to the Tylers that are good down to about 28-29hz. They are spec'd at 35hz but they seem to gain more in room response than the Europas do. Another disappointment with the Europas that actually wasn't nearly as apparent as the bass issue is their midrange. I like to hear vocals that are rich, lush and enveloping. I don't get that with the Europas, their midrange while quite accurate is on the dry side of things. So that’s more a preference thing than anything but the Tylers nail it for me. That’s it for the time being, I'll probably add more thoughts as the weekend goes along.
  23. Wow that sucks, but out of curiosity why didn't you send it back to Exemplar?
  24. Send him one of your pairs and let him rip the leather off those
