Yep that pretty much covers it though I'm sure there are some others.

FYI Universal is releasing the 1st season of Battlestar Galactica on HD-DVD later this year.

Since there seems to be a bit of confusion around who qualifies as a Member of the Trade and what they are allowed to post about I've put together a quick little run down. Who are Members of the Trade?? A) anyone who makes or sells any audio related gear any persons who have direct relationships with persons or companies who fall under (A) C) anyone receiving gifts or money in return posts/threads What are they allowed to do @ Head-case?? All members of the trade have the exact same posting rights as regular members. They just a custom title stating their company affiliation and are put into the Members of the Trade group. We don't want to restrict what MoT can post about we just want all the members to be aware or who the MoT are so they can take that into consideration when reading posts by said MoT.

I think one thing that a number of people are missing is that to be considered a member of the trade (here at least) compensation is completely irrelevant. Anyone who has direct involvement with a manufacturer, retailer, etc is a MoT regardless of if they get paid or not. Art, in your case Cattylink has specifically called you an endorsed support/repair person for at least the Eastsound E5 and the Doge 6210. I have the e-mails from Snowy @ Cattlyink to prove it so don't bother trying to deny it. The fact that you say you receive no compensation is totally irrelevant. You have a relationship with a company in the industry that stands to benefit from positive posting. End of story.

Let us know how it is. If it's good I guess I'll pick up the hd-dvd or blu-ray version at some point.

Cost no object - best closed headphone, past or present?

For me it the L3000 hands down. -
If you can afford it it's probably worth it as you will always be sell them for little or no loss if they don't work out for you.

Added a couple more themes back today.

I like the older meridian gear but I haven't heard the 566.24. Going by the specs which I know doesn't really mean much the VDA-2 should be a good dac. The BB179x series of dacs that it uses are one of the best dac chips in current production.

I haven't heard the Mark III but the older versions couldn't drive low impedance phones well at all. Also knowing ASL's terrible quality control history I'd be hesitant to buy anything from them.

How and Where should I sell my computer???
tkam replied to philodox's topic in GoRedwings19's Computer Help Hotline
I think your best bet on selling it and not taking a total loss would be a craigslist type of place. You could always try hardocp forums or other tech related forums but your more likely to only get bottom dollar for it from places like that. -

Get yourself an E6600 and a 8800GTS that'll run pretty much any current game at max settings. -
Quad is a bit beyond "outsourcing quite a bit" to China . Pretty much their entire operation is in China now.

yeah you'll have to install the latest nvidia driver none of the linux distros come with correct drivers for ati or nvidia graphics cards since they wont release their drivers under the gpl.
-
It's talking about your boot partition not your root partition. You should be able to make your boot partition smaller than 512. Also when you did the install, did you check the option from GRUB to install to the MBR?

Ok guys sorry for the mess, the hosting provider managed to nuke some of the hardware in the server when they took it down while they were installing new cooling equipment in their new data center. Luckily I had just backed up the site prior to them taking the server down so I was able to move the site to a different server for the time being. As of now everything should be 100% working (still adding themes back though)
-
There will be some additional downtime today. It's related to the server move on Friday and some issues the provider is having with their cooling system. Should only be down for an hour at most.

Since you liked the VR4 SR you might want to check out the Tyler Acoustic Linbrook Signature System: http://www.tyleracoustics.com/linbrook.html

At that price I'd keep an eye out for a pair of Legacy Audio Focus 20/20. They are easily one of the best speakers I've heard regardless of price. Another speaker you might want to consider is the Selah Audio 3D: http://selahaudio.com/id134.html. I heard a pair of these recently and was very very impressed. Are you planning to use your Aleph30? If so the Focus 20/20 will be a better match as they are very efficient speakers.

Nice catch the modwright players are usually really good.

The site will be down for an extended period of time (at least a few hours) sometime during the following time frame: Friday, February 9, 2007 9:00pm - 5:00am MST. Our hosting provider is moving into a new data center facility and will be physically moving the server at some point during the previously listed time frame.

Graphics Card recommendations?
tkam replied to Dusty Chalk's topic in GoRedwings19's Computer Help Hotline
Pretty much any graphics card on the market now even the very cheap ones will suit your needs. I'd get one with dvi-output to keep it all digital to you monitor. Does your current computer have a PCI-E slot for graphics? Or AGP? If it's only AGP you'll find your options to be pretty limited and it won't work in your new computer as just about all motherboards these days have phased out AGP in favor of PCI-E
