I am trying to find that diagram that came with the hp1000's that shows a possible connection to speaker amps, thanks to anyone that can help out with a link.

BTW when I say "foreigners" that also includes Americans that are foreign to the chicagoland area:)
-
To all the foreigners, remember that when you arrive at the hotel, please PM/call one of the crew members so we can meet up and show you around town, maybe go into downtown and the city and get krunked or something. Last day of school for me is June 1st I think and after that I am all canjam fo sho.
-
Same here, plus everything else (except canjam moderators forum and for sale forum) EDIT: Seems to keep headache down, no? That and using mobile theme on iphone for HC have been my favorite findings so far.
-
^^^ Your awesome. That should be a nice little upgrade and very helpful to our out of towners.
-
Steve, PM me when you get in town. The school year will be done by then, and would love to come by and hang out with you and can help you find places and get around.

Had a chance to check it out last night, as Doug stopped by with the amp, as well as his balanced solid state. I was really impressed, we spun disks all night and everything sounded killer. Considering what the parts count and what the total kit may cost, this is one sick of a deal for the sound that I was hearing.

^^^ I am no coffee expert for sure but I was always the starbucks kind of guy and when I had my first americano at Intelligentsia it was pretty amazing, yet also informative on how disgusting the espresso from starbucks truly is. Anytime my wife and I are downtown or in the area we always make a stop by Intelligentsia. I should check out Metropolis as well.

Inteligentsia is probably the best, highest quality coffee and espresso that we have here by far, and definitely the best I have tasted. Coffee is brewed by the individual cup, and their espresso is absolutely perfect. 312 is a chicago brewed beer, I believe they have an official storefront. The cool thing with chicago is the diversity and multiple options for stuff that is located on the north, west, south side of chicago as well as the outer suburbs. This is my favorite place for beer and food. THE BAVARIAN LODGE Its out in Lisle which is a suburb southwest of Chicago. The beer collection would impress a lot of you hardcore types and the food is very authentic german. Consistently voted as one of the top 10 best german places in the nation. EDIT: More random stuff, more on the tourist side Michigan Ave is like our version of times square but a bit more down to earth and not as crazy Walking down Lake Shore Drive on the trail or biking and stopping by various beaches is amazing in June. SuperDawg's - northside, or Hot Doug's deeper in the city for more outrageous hot dog fare (like foie gras topped hot dog) Gino's East for deep dish, downtown Our Broadway in Chicago scene is very good and I think at minimum you'll find the talent to be of similar quality, though I personally find the production on Broadway NY to be a bit better.

Nate, I don't want to speak for Doug or Tom, but I believe it is going to be a pretty sick project that would be able to compete with the Starving Student for best tube based budget project, and something easy enough where even a newbie like myself could tackle it as a 1st project. However it appears luvdunhill gave away a nice hint at the circuit of the amp.

Nice job on the review/description Tyll, very well put. Definitely would look forward to hearing one myself.

Waiting at terminal ohare as we speak, so excited! Staying at best western times square 48th and 8th. Still looking for a nice steak place that the wife will find "romantic" for v-day. Peter luger's is out, hoping del friscos is more her style. Definitely need to hi up katz's, which I believe is lower east side. Chinatown a must. We're doing the free staten ferry thing as well, should be fun. Broadway - we're going to try and hit up those hottix booths early saturday. Jazz? That's where we are at.

My pelican is pretty petite in comparison, thing looks like it could carry a beta22

Posted this before. Pelican 1080 I think...waterproof, when closed, a little thingy releases excess air pressure, resistant to humidity, its wonderful.

Suggestion for a good 45 tube please
recstar24 replied to Mr.Shadow's topic in Headphone Amplification
I am pretty sure David is referring to his EC2A3, which is cap-coupled between the input 6sl7 and the output 2a3, then transformer coupled. However on my DC coupled moth si2a3/45H I did not experience any problems whatsoever with the EML's. I believe the older EML's especially when they were still AVVT were the last ones that had the stripping cathode issues and the current production EML;s are perfectly fine. -

On my set of EML 45 solid plates, it worked perfectly for a year and a half with regular use every day, and I believe is still perfectly normal with their current owner. The previous owner of my amp also used EML 45 solid plates for the same time and they never gave him problems. Just buy from an authorized dealer and you should be okay. I bought them from Tubes USA, George Lenz, he is an authorized dealer and offers 1 year warranty which I believe he actually supports and backs up. -

If you have the money the EML 45's are the best, way better than the American NOS. I only have experience with the solid plates but a lot of the reading on the web says the solid plates are a bit more neutral and linear. The EML's are super impressive not only in sonics but in build quality. -
Sold mine. Joe beat John for me. Great can and liked it but either I listen to HP1000's or speakers, don't personally see the need for two headphones especially 2 grados.
