Got my new airport extreme. Set up a separate ssid for the 5 ghz. Excellent.

There is an app called todo that I just downloaded based on layout and really good reviews. Looks real nice and easy on first impressions.

Funny you say that...after having issues with it not connecting, I changed the SSID Name of it from linksys-g to linksys and it did come back on fortunately. I haven't checked it today if the wifi is still going in and out. The SSID now matches the host and domain name under the router options so maybe that had something to do with it.

I mean I can hear what your saying, the text does appear to be somewhat fuzzy on portrait all the way zoomed out, at Least oN most websites I am on. I think that article posted by blessing basically sums It up, it appears to be a font issue. Oh and at least the genius I spoke with today was pretty useless. I actually did one of those iPad tours last week at the apple store and that was pretty useless as well.

Pretty good. Router on lower level, and when directly above on upper level through most walls it stays at 3 bars with occasional 2. On lower level it is on 3 bars almost the whole time. I have read of some users changing to b or a only as g can get a lot of interference from various household appliances. Ultimately I may just upgrade to a dual band n router, use the n for the iPad, g for everything else, and take advantage of external hard drive support like the airport extreme.
-
I already did that, I have it on g only. I use Wpa security, no crazy Mac filtering, no 40mhz mode, nothing on my router setup is out of the ordinary. I think I just need to wait until apple fixes it with the next software update.

Well I exchanged my iPad today for another one due to the wifi issues disconnecting me every once in a while. They gave me a replacement but even this one is being funky with the wifi. Something must be up with how I have my router setup.

The doubletree would be the closest alternative. Also all the Chicago black hawks media and upper admin are staying at the hyatt as well.

Sorry Vicki but it's true that the hotel is swamped. The genius that is me didn't even get a room for myself and when I asked last week she had nothing for me. I am local obviously but would have been nice to be able to crash after workin the event. However I agree that is weird to ask a lady to share a room IMO.

Works for me on iPad, safari

wait...I will actually have time for fun and relaxation All kidding aside, I do hope to visit and hang with you guys during the weekend, as I know I will be running around and making sure all the vendors are cool and taken care of. I plan on hitting up the hotel on Thursday before setup Friday as that might be my only real time to hang out and be social. So I am apologizing ahead of time if you don;t see me much as I want to make sure the vendors are taken care of.

JUDE!!! Marc, it went through to Jude's side fine, but I fear your badge might be messed up. Can you register again with actually putting your headfi username where it says username and putting your name under "name" K Thx.

Superdawgs I believe has late night weekend hours, maybe 1 or 2 AM. I think Hot Doug's is a more normal establishment in terms of hours.

I have never been to hot dougs, but it would be worth a visit. I did grow up on Superdawgs though. Whatever recipe they use for their dogs is smoking.

airport express vs. airport extreme
recstar24 replied to recstar24's topic in GoRedwings19's Computer Help Hotline
Great points Nate - it could really be the ipad causing problems. I have read the apple support forum, and I went ahead and changed the router options to run only on G. Also, I might just want to wait a bit to see if things got better, as I started messing around with the router once my ipad and laptops started being weird. I think the last time I noticed it dropped out on my was maybe 2 days ago? I would say overall its a minor issue and nothing more than a nuisance, so spending $$$ on an airport might not be the most frugal of decisions currently. -
airport express vs. airport extreme

Through the generous kindness of Nate and all his wonderful Nateness, I was able to receive a nice linksys wr54g (I think, its the one that cannot take the DD-WRT firmware) as I was having router issues. It has worked pretty well, but the one thing I notice is that when multiple things are accessing the router at the same time, it tends to drop out. For example, I had my ipad, and two laptops were exchanging music through itunes as my work tablet will be returned, and it would suddenly drop out of connection, and wouldn't connect back to the router until a couple of minutes. I upgraded to the recent firmware but nothing really. Also, some of you may know that the ipad has some reported issues with wifi, and every once in a while it will kick me out and ask me to sign back on the wifi, which may also be router related too. A lot of you have had many good things to say about the airports, and I am thinking it might be nice to have a really nice stable router that won't drop out on me or require hard resets often. I have a HP wireless printer and would love to be able to access my external hard drive that I have. Thanks. EDIT: I believe my current laptop (s) are G band, the ipad I believe is only g band as well. -
Centrance DACport -- usb-powered dac/amp

Interesting. They are a vendor at canjam so will be nice to maybe take a listen. -
Finally got the apple iPad case. It's nice. Designed well, fits nice and tight, the material feels good, simple and understated, and the angle thing is nice. It has the right amount of stiffness while still feeling flexible. Me happy. I went ahead and ordered the camera kit online at apple store, 4 weeks. I am positive after calling all apple stores in illinois and the best buy rep told me they were literally all out in the whole state.

Another one falls prey. FOTM!!!
