  1. Thanks postie. Currently going back and forth between the g25 and s2 series, 50 inch. Gut says to just go with the g25 with vier a cast, USB connection, lan connection and the better black contrast ratio
  2. Anyone who has bought a plasma or any HDTV through amazon or other online retailer, would love to hear your thoughts on the process. The idea of amazon shipping something like a plasma tv to me seems frightening but would be comforting to hear that it may actually be a smooth safe and no hassle process.

Canjam was one of the most enjoyable and thoroughly fulfilling things I have ever done. To be a part of something that brought people together is truly special. It would be a very sad day if there were no more independent canjams, but I obviously understand it takes a few devoted/somewhat crazy individuals to step up and unfortunately we all have lives that may not permit us to step up. Reading your comments also kind of conveys that it is unlikely new leadership will arise from the current generation of huddler fi. Me sad.
  4. No, not really, because he is acknowledging that posty is awesome.
  5. Yup the G25 is what appears to be my #1 choice. Will also look at the S1/S2 series.
  6. Postyand Jacob, is there a specific model # panny plasma I should be looking at? The g25 seems to be a good bet and are offered at really nice prices currently.
  7. Wasn't really considering plasma, in fear of the whole image burn thing. I also didn't realize the price was pretty close to LCD if not cheaper in some cases.
  8. Finally looking at our first HDTV purchase. Budget of around $1000 and looking at 46 -55 inch. More concerned with picture quality versus random add ons and extras. Sony Bravia 46ex500 seems to be a decent bet at 900. Feel free to throw anything else out there.
  9. Should have had one already. Just ask and they will send you one.

Jp I think I am with dusty on this, but you posting those vendors implies that you feel our issue is with vendors not being represented, which you can clearly see why a vendor would be left out. The issue is the apparent lack of respect for headphone audio from a coverage standpoint, and for the, to clump all headphone audio as Ray Smuels is sort of condescending. If headphone audio was important to them they would take the time for another paragraph or two with maybe another picture or two. I don't think dusty wanted or expected some lavish spread but merely a show of respect from a media standpoint that headphone audio is legitimate.

I would still take that stereophile coverage over the 6moons shill I mean meet impressions of canjam.
  13. Sorry for crappy pic, but in real life the lines and edges are smooth, the older version was somewhat jaggedy.
  14. The flying girl on mine looks good, or much better than the first versions, but I am a relatively recent jh13 owner well past when they upgraded their equipment.
  15. The 3a/16 demo at can jam, while not perfect, was pretty jaw dropping in two areas: 1) transient impact and bass punch. 2) actual soundstage with focus and crazy imaging The bass hit your chest like a jackhammer, and overall the sound was really impactful. It reminded me of a nice k1000 setup in that regard. To hear soundstaging from an IEM where it was layered in front and around you, with incredibly precise focus and clarity, was pretty remarkable. There might have been some weird midrange funkiness, and I am not quite sure whether they have all their DSP stuff all figured out, but I think there is good Eason to believe it will be a quality product.
  16. Vicki, I remember you talked about using your MacBook as a source (optical with spdif adapter). Should sound great.
  17. Where?
  18. Gracias.
  19. Ok last question I swear. There are conflicting reports, the absolute sound review says the USB drive has to have its own power supply as the touh can power them, but everywhere else it says it should be ok. Can anyone confirm/deny?
  20. Ok. I think i have finally found what I have been looking for to get into a wireless based source. Woot. Edit: I will have to read more about it, but I fear that the touch could actually lag and skip when hooked up to an external. One review on amazon mentioned that it may not work smoothly with external hard drive usage.
  21. Ok, let me see if I have this right. The touch can operate without using a computer, you can hook up an external USB hard drive to it, and I can use my iPad to control it?
  22. USB input, all those different inputs. Digital volume control for line stage option. Fully balanced design. $299 WTF. It's worth it just for the functionality.
  23. Sorry HPA I do not hear what you are hearing. The jh13s are probably the most pure and accurate things ive heard through the midrange especially regarding tone. The tone in the voice and guitar is perfect to my ears and I am very happy with the bass reproduction (the 16's sounded too bassy to me but the 13's are right near the middle balance for bass output).
  24. Needed to update iTunes to the newest 10.01 version, works great now.
  25. For some reason I cannot get remote on iPad to find my iTunes library. Home sharing is turned on but it won't connect.
