  1. Killer with the DSHA-1
  2. Congrats! Nice Facebook pics!
  3. My respect for the hd800 and sennheiser just increased dramatically.
  4. LOL. Yeah that seems to be the theme when one listens to a Doug amp for the 1st time.

Whoa tapatalk has a pretty nice interface
  6. I could have swore koss has some cheap models that are actually somewhat decent, correct?
  7. I remember my wife and I when we had Molly (our 1st) we were adamant about not using a pacifier. That last a few hours
  8. I assure the community that I am a decent father who tries to engage his kids without resorting to electronic toys. I am simply wanting to keep Molly occupied during a long flight in respect to other passengers.
  9. So we are going to San Diego for vacation Saturday and it will be Molly's first airplane. Which means we need distractions. I've got some Disney classics and some kids tunes loaded up on the iPad, which means headphones. She turns 3 in August. They need to be comfy enough where she won't mess with them, small enough to fit a 3 year olds head, and cheap enough where I won't sweat it when she break them. Go.
  10. Z is short for impedance.
  11. My DSHA has a switch to go back and forth and truly its not that big of a difference IMO. You get more volume on the high output obviously but otherwise low output is fine. If anything you could argue the low output is better equipped to handle the wild impedance swings. I find the hd800 issue in terms of driving it to be less about output impedance or voltage:current and more about quality and linearity of the amp itself.
  12. It was pretty cool. None of the vendors checked your sample tokens, it was a straight drink as much as you want. Ska was fantastic. I have had their modus operandi but I had what I think was called vernal minthe and it was the most interesting beer of the night, a nice vanilla mint flavor but not sweet or overpowering whatsoever.
  13. Danke.
  14. http://www.americanbeerclassic.com/who.php Basically I get 48 tokens to sample stuff! Feel free to share your recs!
  15. Another fan of the hd800 dsha1 pairing. I definitely preferred it driven by the higher impedance output (Doug that's 50 ohms output into 300, correct?) i listened to tyll's modded version and it was great, but I never found the stock one that overly offensive either.
  16. The er4s' came in, listened to a few tracks. I like! Tonally the first thing to come to mind was hd800, which I find to be somewhat lean but I didn't think the er4s as being bright on first listen. I did get a nice seal and the bass albeit somewhat lighter than my shure se535 was quick tight and punchy. Treble is fantastic, very smooth, no etch. The level of detail was pretty impressive, again great retrieval and didn't sound bright to me. Driving with a pico power, these things like their juice! Medium gain with iPhone headphone out on full, I was close to 11 I clock. The pairing sounded great.
  17. Whoa nice job Doug. It's a great can, the things it can do and show you should be very helpful in all of your circuit building.
  18. Just got a 4s from good ole HF. My pico power is excited.
  19. Cool - I believe I'm better off just getting a cheap adaptor off of eBay vs the one sold by etymotic, yes?
  20. Other than the impedance, is the only thing truly separating the two an added resistance to a p to s adaptor? Have been looking for a er4s, got offered a p at a nice price and thinkin about just getting the adaptor.
  21. Thanks guys! As stated in the dark lord thread little did we realize our plan to head to three Floyd's for lunch and bring back beer would be thwarted by dark lord day. Instead we went to revolution brewery which is in Logan square and it was excellent. Bulls kicked butt and the kids sang many happy birthdays to me. Last night we had a cappella concert and the students rocked the house. I am very tired.
  22. So proud
  23. Ah totally forgot. You are awesome!
  24. Arg. Darn you lack of audio autocorrect
