The heartfelt beads work perfectly. It's such a stupidly simple concept that just makes total sense. Basically the beads are impregnated with a certain salt solution that emits a certain RH. The humidipak is essentially the same thing. One of the more weird options that works as well are kitty litter beads.

I use something similar for my ukes. I found the cigar world has many products that basically keep RH dead on at 50% RH. I use tubes filled with humidity beads from heartfelt industries. There are tons of DIY options as well. I have 30 solid ukes in my classroom and over long breaks I put them in plastic bins with a container of water storing crystals I bought from Home Depot and those work well.

I would just like to add how much respect I have for these canst do sennheiser as a company. A friendly headfier sent me a set to borrow and every little detail about the product is awesome. Packaging, instructions, box, all very professional. I forgot how nice quality the stock cable is, very practical and usable though. Great fit, very light weight, and regardless of your tonal bias or preferences, this is a great sounding headphone and handles all the technical aspects wonderfully. And it doesn't look too alien sitting in your head either. Oh and the headband mechanism totally passes the big head egg shaped test.

Yeah I love abalone. It's blingy but in a subtle, not ray Samuels kind of way.
-
On the covered bridge (the darker one with the black binding), the inlay ("rosette") is abalone. On the mya moe (the fancy one), it is a wooden rosette of walnut.

It has been the same with us for the past 7 years! This is truly the first time we have a distinct area for the kids, and that area is for the audio/video side.

My wife and I completely rearranged our family room area where the setup is, and we were actually able to integrate the speakers and tv together. I've got the oppo feeding the Doug DAC feeding the Dsha 0 feeding the First time I've ever had something that resembled an actual listening space. We watched a few blurays, some netflix, and now on to some football, and the stealths can definitely serve as HT mains. Huge dynamic swings, never breaks a sweat when asked to push, and that bass though.

Well, my first custom is ready to be shipped! Should land next week. And I grabbed a mya moe myrtle tenor that popped up for sale new from mya moe! https://www.myamoeukuleles.com/uketracker.php?trackingNumber=1258

I picked up some of that overpriced "acoustic foam" that you place underneath monitors to tighten up the vibrations and by golly I think it actually works. My stands are metal and you could feel vibrating due to the bass of the stealths, they definitely vibrate much less and the bass was fantastic, ridiculous at certain points.

Are the JH13's still the top $1000 IEM pick?

Nate, I saw on IF you think very highly of the 1964's, do you have any thoughts on their highest end model (v6?) -

Can't sell the dsha. It's got some special features that I won't find elsewhere at the price point. 5 inputs, all relay based, input and output transformer coupled, gain and impedance switches, headphone and preamp outs all switchable, drives my emotivas perfectly and has been noiseless on IEMs. -
I was set on a set of hd800's but I'm thinking a set of customs would be a more versatile option. I owned the 13's before and sounded nice but the fit was OK and ended up selling them. Planning on using it as a primary phone from the dsha 0 as well as iPhone. Budget is about $1000, it's been awhile since I've really been into the whole IEM thing so not really sure what people are using nowadays.

I still don't get why you are so angry. What you are describing is a normal product cycle especially for audio that is somewhat tech driven. Cue apple and iPhone example - you know when you buy a new iPhone it will be replaced by a better model within a year. There is nothing of evidence to show jerry was being dishonest with you, i am sure he legitimately believed the Roxanne to be TOTL, but being a creative tweaker type, of course he is going to mKe something better. Go jh13.

I will add it does come across as your bitter you no longer have the TOTL, and it appears like you believe you were misled that you would have the TOTL for ever and ever. So I don't think JP is that far off.

Harbeth! The real deal. Nice score Doug.

People still build tube amps?
-
I think they are mighty sexy, but in a very stealthy way.

Resurrection! The stealth 6's came in today, have been playing for a few hours. Here are my purposefully bland impressions meant to temper my excitement. They are very black and very stealthy. But they are huge. The ribbon tweeters appear to be very much working. The woofers sound like they are producing bass. I've been listening for a few hours straight now non stop. The speakers are filling my room with a lot of sound. WAF.

Just a heads up, I think I've found a killer budget speaker stand. Ultimate support, which normally has 150-200 dollar stands, sells a budget one, jsm70. 4 adjustable heights with an easy locking mechanism, triangular base, comes with rubber feet and metal tiptoe screws for carpet, large top metal plate with a little strip of rubber on the sides that keeps the speaker stable. The whole thing was easy to setup and does not feel or look cheap, I'm truly impressed, all for 59.99 Amazon prime.

I would say the probability that exotic wire in a transformer has an impact on sound is much higher than exotic wire in an interconnect less than a few feet.
-
Transformers are dealing with I believe hundreds (maybe thousands?) of feet of wire were you to actually unwind the thing, and have actual magnetic fields and stuff, you know, physics and science and such.
