Seriously, I don?t think I?ve recommended something I?ve not heard. The mass majority if not nearly all of those ?recommending things? I gave my opinion on I?ve heard. In fact and to be forthright, I can only recall a few exceptions where I made inferences based on experience and my opinion.

that's too much... Only if they knew the actual implications...

Certainly hope so and thanks. I keyed in on two things at the So Cal meet, the 508.24 and the L3000s. But I wasn?t willing to pay $1500 plus for such an old source and when I located a new Saturn from an authorized dealer for nearly a $1000 under list I couldn?t resist. I?ll need to sell the Apollo after the Saturn arrives. As for the L3000s I thought my Singapore connection would hook me up with a used pair for under $1500, but it didn?t pan out. And I missed one on Audiogon for $1500. I guess when I found one in great condition and offered at a decent price I bit. I?ll be selling some other stuff too. I went crazy, but think this should hold me over for a while.

That amp looks fascinating. 13 tubes, five of which have those white caps on top. Those metal disc plates that surround each tube with holes drilled all around. I?ve never seen anything like it before. It?s pretty awesome looking with a straightforward scientific flare to it. I like that you have to turn the key to turn it on, cool. It?s must have a lot of power to drive the K340s. Can?t wait to read your impressions. If you are considering a wood accent faceplate that would look sweet. And as for the light, green or even amber to match the glowing tubes. Enjoy your new amp!

Unreal... I can't believe people are willing to spend that much on some wire... I guess there's a sucker born everyone minute.

stil waiting... I need to touch base with the dealer. I want it now...

If and when it will be irrespective of anyone else?s provocation or prying.

If I share more of my thoughts about this matter it?s my right as is Jude?s right to respond as he sees fit or not respond.

You guys know pretty much as much as I do. I am shocked and in disbelief too. I?ve my suspicions, but really don?t know what to make of it. There might be other issues at play here that really have little to do with the content of two (one being deleted) of my last few posts on Head-Fi that triggered this reaction. The ban will be lifted in a month. And I?ve contacted Jude and he has been gracious and responsive. I?ll probably go more into some specific details a bit later.

Obviously the country is ready for change. Bipartisan control is a positive. IMO, people probably consider impeachment as another way to jab the President, but it most likely won?t fly and in the big picture would be counterproductive for the country.

The Unknown As we know, There are known knowns. There are things we know we know. We also know There are known unknowns. That is to say We know there are some things We do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns, The ones we don?t know We don?t know. ?Feb. 12, 2002, Department of Defense news briefing (Donald Rumsfield)

Given the short time, it was extremely minor discoloration. Doubtful, I would have been able to take even a somewhat decent picture. And but for my wife bringing it to my attention I probably wouldn?t have noticed it. KenW, do you have pics?

In less than 12 days, the Raptor I purchased (and then returned) caused a slight square discoloration in my wooden furniture. Mind you it was pretty minor, but matched the power supply?s near exact dimensions. The feet left no residue, yet I know what you?re talking about. When I tested the Raptor?s external power supply temperature it read 120 degrees. I can only imagine how hot it must have been internally and my home is always kept cool when I am home. If I owned the Raptor longer it would have ruined the furniture or at minimum branded a Raptor power supply square in it forever.

There are two versions of the R10s as far as my understanding, based on Edwood?s comments to me. I?ve heard the R10 serial number 444, which is the early less bass version. Later on in the production Sony for whatever reason increased the R10?s bass and as I am told other sound spectrums slightly suffered. Do you know the serial number and what R10 version you heard? Based on the past few days with the L3000s and my time with Edwood's R10s, I think the R10s have slightly bigger soundstage and slightly better imagining and placement. Yet the R10s that I heard were really bass shy even with my amp that added a little more. I think the R10s would be better for big band or large orchestral classical music. The L3000s are more upfront, dynamic, and the bass is the best I've ever heard in a headphone in terms of quality and quantity. I think for rock, pop, jazz, and small band and classic stuff the L3000s are better and definitely more fun. The R10s are a bit dry in comparison and laid back.

Keep turning it around. You?ve taken the RS authority seat. Not I, nor has anyone else. This thread isn?t now about pages of nasty rumors. It?s pages of your slippery and tongue-in-cheek language. If you read my initial response to you, I didn't have a problem with your reply.
-
You put your neck out to address this rumor as if you knew, but it appears you really don't... Keep bobbing and weaving? That's why everyone is so pissy.
-
No one in this thread mentioned a house burying down. So you?ve heard this rumor too. I intentionally left that part out. I only indicated a house fire and that and to a lesser degree has been repeat except for your statement above. Interesting? I don?t know if this is intentional, a slip of the tongue, a misstatement, or what one could perceive as more double-talking jive.
-
You really can?t see how one could read your ?it?s not true? statement as unclear. Just read 5687?s post. Keep slinging the insults ... Your comment that I responded to had nothing to do with you questioning my sincerity did it, but for your clarification I was sincere. You can spin it anyway you like, but I don?t play that game either.
-
I wasn?t the first to mention house fire and RS Audio. I just responded to Yikes. And I did think about that before posting it because I called it a nasty rumor and a possible urban legend. Don?t play it off like that. As an ambiguous answer as that might have been I think we all knew to a certain degree what he was getting at...
-
I don't mind, but the thread titled isn't very original
-
That's what happened. Something seemed out of place. I knew I made a particular post in this thread and then it disappeared. But it?s only been diverted to a new thread. Interesting? http://www.head-case.org/index.php?topic=945.msg21095;topicseen#msg21095

I thought this rumor hogwash when I heard it. If a Head-Fier?s Raptor caused a fire the tale would spread like wildfire. I also think the Head-Fier would feel obligated to warn others about the potential risk to life and property. One way or another you would think this info would get out. If it happened to someone not associated with Head-Fi, Ray wouldn?t tell anyone, but his closest confidants. Ray is no fool. He wouldn?t risk opening his mouth about this to anyone associated with Head-Fi because the story might be leaked to the Head-Fi masses and that would seriously hurt his business. I don?t think Tyrion deserves such a lashing for replying in the matter he did to this unsubstantiated ridiculous rumor. No one is omniscient.
-
Well, that's certainly good to hear that no Raptor has started a fire. It seemed like a bit of BS.
-
I am not going to say where I heard this nasty rumor, but the alleged story goes that the Raptor started a house fire and now Ray is being sued for it. I've no clue whether this is true or not. Possibly, it's just one of those untrue urban legends. Myth Busters where are you...
