  1. I'd buy both and live with them for a month then sell second place. Between the L3000s and HP1000s, I'd pick the L3000s, but I listen primarily to rock, pop, folk, and small group jazz stuff. Two things to know about the L3000s, if you don't already--(1) have the seller check to ensure there is no bass buzz, though, it's usually an easy fix; (2) they come with a large black outer box, a large blue velvet box, a small black cord bag, a large tan headphone pull string bag, and warranty cards about the headphones, leather and possibly something else. And I wouldn't buy a re-cabled pair. As much as I like the ZD, I think it's better suited to drive high impedance headphones. Whereas with low impedance cans I prefer the BA, HD2, Si2A3(H) and EC2A3--though it's a mute point since both the HP1 or the L3000s are low impedance. Damping on the Grados, or L3000s with EC2A3, or BA is something like a 9 and the ZD is around a 5. The bass punch and control isn't as ideal with the ZD--this only applies to low impedance headphones like the Grados and the ATH.
  2. I've been looking for internal photos of the Reimyo CDP-777 since the thought first entered my mind that I might own one. Over the past 11 months when the occasion presented itself, I have done numerous in depth searches for such images, but to no avail. so as far as I know, these are the first internal pictures posted on the net. enjoy the gut pics of my CDP777...
  3. i am still debating whether i should open the M97xE or return it. after finally finding something pleasing to my ears and my experience with those other carts i am not ready to swap out the dl-110 since i just mounted it three days ago. i've about 25 days left to decide.
  4. we need to have a tt shootout! Glad to hear your tt is making sweet music. i had been pretty close to throwing in the towel with this little vinyl venture. after going through four different carts, i found one that i really like--the denon dl-110. i picked it up on amazon for $140 (including free shipping) and have been pleasantly pleased ever since.

  6. pretty pics of the process please or better yet video! how much totally outlay? does it require use of a vacuum record cleaning machine to suck up the fluid? clean vinyl is good vinyl!
  7. going to Brooks? i have to go back. thanks, Steve. yeah, i am at my wits' end. yesterday i received the denon dl-110 and shure M97xE so time will tell...

  11. haven't used the cicadas with the table yet as i am still experiencing issues and not pleased with the sound. my patience is weaning and can't say if it's the table, cart, set-up, or mating components. without question the reimyo has far better bass response and overall is far, far superior. well when i see Brooks within the week i'll mention it to him. if i am free and it's an open invite, i'll try to make it.
