  1. jp, what's the good word on that px-2?
  2. another option would be to move...
  3. spoke to the doc about 20 minutes ago, and joann is doing fine! I should be able to see her shortly...
  4. thanks, mike, and yes, i'll be nursing them both back to health.
  5. thanks, Al. this has been in the works since late august, but i really wish surgery wasn't necessary. and coupled with that, it's been a crazy last few weeks, which started with my mother-in-law having a stroke a few days after thanksgiving and then bugsey's bladder stones last week.
  6. drove my wife, joann, to cedars sinai. got her checked-in and briefly spoke with her doc prior to surgery. right about now, joann should be anesthetized and hopefully the doctor will complete this minimally invasive procedure within the hour. please keep her in your thoughts (and prayers if that's your thing). i greatly appreciate the positive people energy. i am worried and awaiting word from the doc.
  7. just had a kosher salad at the Ray Charles cafeteria at Cedars.
  8. all is going very, very well and as the vet said not one bump in the road, so since monday evening bugsey has been recuperating at home. we thank everyone so much for all the well wishes and kind words -- bugsey is feeling much better. he's been getting a whole lot of r&r plus his appetite hasn't diminished in the slightest.

Pugs Forced To Eat Dead Owner after reading this sad and scary true news story, i thought to myself when my pug lovingly looked at my wife and i and followed us around the house this morning, i wondered if bugsey was thinking i love my parents or potential food source.
  10. took the bug-man home!

  12. thank you to everyone for the kind words and positive thoughts -- it's greatly appreciated. bugsey had the procedure late last night. they passed a catheter out the urethra to remove a stone that block it, which constricted and obstructed his urine flow. the vet also removed a few stones from his bladder. my wife and i visited with bugsey this afternoon and he seemed to be recovering nicely, but also was sensitive and very sleepy. he still has an iv in his leg. trying to stay awake -- i hope the pain meds are making him feel good. if all continues to go well, he'll be coming home monday.
  13. thanks, ken. she is doing better, but the first hospital misdiagnosed her with vertigo and sent her home. now she is at a great medical center with many rehab therapists working with her daily. the biggest issue is that she needs to relearn how to use the left side of her body, but everyday she is getting better and stronger.
  14. just had an edible ham and cheese sandwich from the long beach memorial medical center cafeteria. my wife's mom had a stroke a few days ago and is an inpatient at their stroke rehab center.
  15. i took bugsey to another vet today for a third opinion. there appears no way around the fact that he needs surgical intervention because his urinary tract is obstructed. i am worried sick about the little bugger. he'll be going under the knife shortly... here's a photo i shot with my iphone before they took him :'( please keep him in your thoughts (and/or prays, if that's your thing).
  16. is this your abridged or unabridged suggestion list?
