No, not even close. People become gun rights activists and NRA members by choice. Black people are black for obvious reasons, and choice is not one of them. Gun rights people are of many ethnicities and rally around a central cause. Black people are all over the place politically, so to lump them all together and imply that they should vote for a HALF black man because of the color of his skin is just a socially acceptable form of racism. This kind only works for minorities though. Wmcmanus is right on here. Regarding Whitney Houston, she had an amazing voice. It's too bad that she couldn't keep clean. RIP.

I don't know how I forgot about this: Anneke Van Giersbergen's new album Everything Is Changing came out January 20th. While it is not quite as good as her stuff with The Gathering, it is worth it just to hear her signing. Fans of her know what I am talking about.

How interesting. I am going to completely agree for exactly the reasons you stated. I made my comment while listening to it for the first time. Sounded great upon a casual listen, but there is nothing to pull me back for more. Very shallow and uninspired. Aside from the first two albums, I am really growing away from this band. They just seem to have lost their way. Them and Opeth. It sucks that it is that way, because both have created some great music - especially Opeth. I mentioned it in the first post, but if you are a fan of STS, you will really like Mar De Grises. A better band in every single way.

Help With Amp and Headphone

...when, where, why, and how? -
I am not advocating complaining about that place here at all; however, to follow your advice, one might as well talk to a tree stump. Any time I have ever complained in the past, I got a nice helping of "tough shit". Others might have had more success, but all one has to do is browse the site to know which side of the bread is buttered. That site is all about marketing now.

Ah, Head-fi. Home of the thread locks. Although in this case, it was necessary to prevent Jude from getting his ass further handed to him by spritzer.

True indeed.

HOLY CRAP!!! New Anathema album in April? YES PLEASE!!! Anathema will return in April with Weather Systems, their brand new studio album. Weather Systems is the follow-up to 2010’s We're Here Because We're Here. That album featured prominently in numerous end-of-year polls and the producer, Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree), has described it as 'definitely among the best albums I’ve ever had the pleasure to work on.' The bar for Weather Systems has been set pretty high then but Daniel is certain that the album will exceed these lofty expectations, ‘it feels like we are at a creative peak right now, and this album reflects that. Everything from the production to the writing to the performances are a step up from our last album.’ He continues, ‘This is not background music for parties. The music is written to deeply move the listener, to uplift or take the listener to the coldest depths of the soul.’ The intertwining melodic structures of these profoundly beautiful songs are intensely powerful, yet simple. These are songs that will transport the listener closer to the heart of life, that is to say, to the heart of themselves. It is also an album of polarity. The play of opposites; light and shade, birth and death, love and fear. The simple truths of life and loss, hope and strength and darker internal themes are all explored here. The album was recorded in Liverpool, North Wales and Oslo, each place significant to Anathema past, present and future. The record was produced and mastered by 5 times Norwegian Grammy nominated Christer-André Cederberg (Animal Alpha, In the Woods..., Drawn), who Daniel has described as ‘a revelation. His calmness and brilliance has helped to bring about the greatest inter-band chemistry that Anathema have experienced together in their career.’ This album will please fans who call for more of Lee Douglas’s vocals, as her role within Anathema’s brand of alternative, melodic rock has matured to become an integral energy. In this way and more, Weather Systems is the sound of a band finding their voice and growing in stature, moving further along their artistic path with a truly stunning musical vision. Their best ever work? ‘Not yet’ says Daniel, but he does believe that with Weather Systems they have surpassed previous glories; ‘we are pleased and proud of the record and we feel that, alongside the best moments of WHBWH, this record contains our very best work so far in what is becoming a long career.’ Weather Systems will be available on Kscope from April 16th 2012. Tracklist: 01. Untouchable, part 1 02. Untouchable, part 2 03. The Gathering Of The Clouds 04. Lightning Song 05. Sunlight 06. The Storm Before The Calm 07. The Beginning And The End 08. The Lost Child 09. Internal Landscapes

It's not your fault (obviously) that there are people that ignorant and pathetic. I know you posted it as a "holy crap!" link, so please do not feel bad or guilty about it, but I have two hang-ups: 1. It's all about the set-up on the net with stuff like that. There's nsfw, and then there's NSFW. I support the freedom to make yourself look like a bigoted moron on the net, but it's nice to know what we are getting into beforehand. 2. There's insane and crazy stuff on this thread that I find extremely entertaining and funny. I like edgy humor and odd expression, but I am not into reading the ramblings of assholes. If you still want to post it, cool, but see hang-up #1.

That site is shit. Why waste our time with such drivel? It's not in the realm of funny or thought provoking.

Yeah, I cannot find anything at all. I found that this stuff usually shows up about a month later or so stateside from the usual places. Since I refuse to pay what they are asking in Euros (plus shipping), I will have to listen to a digital copy until I can buy locally.

Forgot to check up on this thread for a while. My music tastes tend to focus more on the darker (slower paced atmospheric) side of metal, but I do not mean to exclude music that is not exactly that. I am not really into the faster (thrash, speed, or tech) metal, but if you think it is noteworthy and someone else would like it, go for it. Swallow The Sun - Emerald Forest And The Blackbird Stream: http://www.inferno.f...-sun-levy-6513/ Though not a perfect album, this one is much better than the HUGE disappointment that was New Moon. There is a bit of a throwback to their debut album while still slightly expanding their sound. A Storm of Light - As the Valley of Death Becomes Us, Our Silver Memories Fade Great sludgy doom metal with post-rock thrown in. I almost never listen to newer American metal (something about it just does nothing for me), but this album is good.

Jailhouse Money Brown. I could sell well with that name

While playing BS Bingo is fun, and at the risk of misinterpreting dsavitsk's intent, I think he was pointing out the conflicting message you are sending regarding posts about politics. Oh, and: You might have to wait a while...................................

The only problem is that this picture is all over Facebook. In fact, one of my students sent it to me. I suspect they would catch on quickly, mark every answer the same (once they found the pattern), and say to hell with looking for the one that is different. Another teacher made a key that spelled the name of our school. It was pretty funny to see who caught on and who did not.

What an awesome website. Thank you for that link. I learned a lot!
