  1. That is very nice Al, thanks for teaching us your technique to buy stuff. All I have to do is make sure the system is out of wack so "she who must be obeyed" demands a new system. Of course I would oblige.
  2. Ron (HiFlight) is a member of a Yatch Club in Fort Myers and has access to a large salon. He already hosted a meet there and IMO it is a very nice venue at a good per person cost of $15 including lunch (soup, sandwich bar, and cookies). If there is interest I will post pictures of the location and of the water views from the salon. I personally was surprised at how nice the Fort Myers downtown, pictures are also available. Any one here interested in attending? Thanks.
  3. Amazing looking cans, enjoy them!
  4. Fishing of the Bering Sea must have been both exciting and SCARY! I thought I had it rough by working in nuclear power plants for almost 15 years and being irradiated, but I think your job was tougher.
  5. Finished reading over 500 pages submitted as part of 5 engineering proposals for the upcoming selection of a wastewater consultant. Talk about boring.
  6. Would you please advise what type of material is sandwich between the two rubber disks? Thanks.
  7. A pair of the Clement 105 speakers for the office.
  8. Those bench cookies look like they could have a lot of uses around the house. Do you know what is the material sandwich between the two rubber surfaces? Thanks.

    Very nice pics!
  10. Happy father's day to all fathers out there.
  11. I too like their attitude, price, and looks of the amp. I wish they had used tubes that have NOS equivalent, funny because I have a few 6N1P and 6N6P somewhere.
  12. Happy B-Day!
  13. Larry if you can make the "Double Twist" I would be interested since it would take care of one of my issues. Currently I converted a bunch of ALAC songs to FLAC using an older Dell PC but I lost a lot of the information like pictures! The HM-801 sounds GREAT! Thanks.
  14. I have spent more time w/ the HM-801 and I have to say I am very impressed with its sound. The delivery is IMO very accurate, clear, involving, musical, etc. etc. etc. However, it is a device that demands knowledge on the part of the user in order to use it and enjoy it. For an old fart who has only used iTunes it is very cumbersome to use the HM-801 due to file conversion from ALAC to FLAC plus the need to buy 32GB SDHC Kingston cards. This may be no problems to many or just minor inconveniences, but to me it will be a deal breaker which is sad because it sounds so darn good. I may change my mind but do not hold your breath. If anyone has any suggestions/questions or improvements please let me know.
  15. Thanks for the information.
  16. Darn! those Davone speakers look awesome.
  17. A 1TB WD external USB HD to back up the iMac.
  18. I do not even make as high as chihuahua! More like a flea.
  19. The lowest price I have found the Kingston 32 GB SDHC cards is about $80 plus S&H. Anyone knows if they can be found for less? Thanks.

    Canjam 2010.

Awesome pictures, I have never been to Chicago and did not know it is so nice. Of course it is the people and you all had a great time.
  21. A couple of years ago I modded a simple DAC and used motor oil filled caps. Do they have any use in the higher quality Stax gear? Thanks.
  22. XX, I too do not have experience with the ECD-1 but I do similarly with the Monarchy Audion NM24 DAC. It has a tube and a SS outputs and both are being used concurrently. Try it and let us know.
  23. Come To The River by Dianne Reeves
  24. The D10 is a nice sounding unit, even more w/ Ron's TopKit. Another option is the Leckerton UHA-6S, it does not have coaxial but it has optical and USB inputs. However it does not have a line out only headphone out w/ an internal headphone amp.
  25. A pity, however there is still the line out option (Edwood uses it this way). Thanks.
