When I had my K1000s I was using a Cayin HA-1 amp and it was a good match. I did not compare the amp to other amps, but it made music in my system. The amp also has an advantage in that it can be set to work well with a variety of other headphones as well.

Well that is just simply disturbing. Really. Walnut? Not nearly dense enough. Maple, possibly. But certainly not walnut. Besides, both walnut and cherry for that matter will add their unique colorations to the sound. And I do hope that we migrate this discussion back to the aeron chair.....a much less disturbing picture. Though I do usually sit in a copy of the less expensive herman miller chair mentioned earlier - the Ergon3 not as comfortable as the Stressless Recliner that I would like to afford, but a pretty good desk chair, especially for the price.

I'm not clear on a couple of things in your post. What is the EHHA at RMAF? I just don't know what the initials mean. Also, I heard the WA22 with K1000 in the recent Jersey meet. It sounded pretty good, but the WA5SE sounded more alive, more realistic. This was show impressions and the room was noisy so I would not take my impressions to the bank. You did seem to prefer the WA22 and mentioned that Jack disagreed. I am guessing that you are talking about Jack at Woo; could you offer more info on what he said? Thanks

For me, FF 3.5 is much faster than Safari 4 on my mac. Safari seems to have many delays in loading pages.

Effective sound proofing is difficult. You could line your room with sound absorbent material, but that is a very imperfect solution. You might also try erecting a false wall (does not have to be structurally strong) in front of the neighboring wall about two to six inches away and filling the gap loosely with fibreglass. That too is imperfect, but that is the type of construction needed to soundproof rooms. Seal all the gaps around the false wall with putty, etc. Tough to do and good luck.
