  1. Have the best day ever Jim! Hope things are going great in your new state!
  2. Mmm, yes please!
  3. I have a taste for the macabre, and while Evan Peters did a fine job, he didn't quite embody the odd traits of JD. Still, an intriguing watch. I did like the soundtrack. Niecy Nash definitely impressed me.
  4. When I was living in Port Aransas, TX., I got a phone call from a friend one evening. He told me that Leon Russell was going to be playing in the courtyard of a local restaurant in a few minutes. I thought he was joking, as the population of that town was less than 2000. Of course I hurried over. No entry fee at all, and sure enough Mr. Russell showed up. There were less than 20 people in attendance, and most seemed to care less. I couldn't believe it. I was a big fan, and it was sad to see him in this situation. I heard that shortly after that Leon Russell stopped touring all together. I heard that Elton had quite a time convincing him to record with him. Luckily he persisted, and he eventually won him over. The album was a critical success, which I think did a lot for Leon's self image.
  5. Some friends bought me a scroll saw in Texas, for helping them with their tile floor. It was a DeWalt. It was actually a pretty nice saw. Personally I wouldn't spend a lot, because I rarely used it. It's a pretty specific tool.
  6. Hope the MRI was informative.
  7. From a gay man's point of view... Queens have been getting too much attention for far too long. Once you've seen one Queen, you've pretty much seen them all, and most saw themselves as far more important than they were in reality.
  8. This looks like it's going to be way better than the movie was, which admittedly is not a hard thing to achieve. They've done a good job with the cast.
  9. Doug, that show was about people from the Fifties. We are not those people any longer. The shows you mentioned do a pretty good job of presenting the people we are today, for better or worse. I'm a big fan of M.A.S.H. too, but the majority of people today don't do things for the greater good.
  10. My local supply house is out of that model Naaman, but they'll upgrade you to this premium model for the same price.
  11. This design would lend itself to a Frankenstein's monster's head really well.
  12. Sorry, but in the bay area this seems like any Saturday to me. OK, maybe the Queen is usually a man, but other than that...
  13. At this point the differences are subtle, but each successive layer gets me further along the non-stick pathway. A carbon steel pan will never release like a coated pan, but once you learn how to use it, it's very close. And I like knowing that I'm not slowly poisoning myself and others. And let's face it... Every non-stick pan has a limited life span. It's a disposable pan. I like the idea that my cookware could find it's second life with a Niece, Nephew or friend, and then on from there. I'm inline to inherit my Mom's cast iron pieces. They're numerous and I'll be the fourth generation to use them. That means more to me the older I get.
  14. Day 5.
  15. If you've ever ridden in one, it's a completely different experience than an aluminum boat. Or for Grahame, an aluminium boat. It's like going from a '67 Ford pickup to a 2022 Mercedes S class.
  16. Maximalism can get pretty hard. It just can't sustain it as long anymore.
  17. You're just jealous because I have more Birkenstocks and plaid than you. I don't however have any wool socks to wear with my Birkeys, so your lesbianship is under no threat. And I don't own a single bandana.
  18. Excellent! And the idea to swap the boards above and below the niche was spot on. Everything is proportionate and balanced now. I also love the simple look of the mantle, with the elegant tapered legs! Personally I would avoid staining. It never matches quite right, but I like how the lighter mantle kind of mimics the frame around the hearth tiles. Really nice design!
  19. So, zoodles and floodles?
  20. They are, and they're definitely Men's sandals. I have a friend that works at Birkenstock and gets me 50% off. I really like these sandals, though they're not great for putting in lots of miles at a time.
  21. Do you use a spiralizer tool?
  22. That '41 Chris Craft gives me wood.
