Just took delivery of the last two doors for the house. One is a regular interior door, shaker style. The other was believed to be a set of bi-fold doors for the linen closet. The closet has already been trimmed out and I already hung a track for bi-fold doors (on the plans). Instead the delivery driver showed up with a giant set of French doors. The linen closet is in a narrow hallway. Thinking the order was wrong I called our man that orders and tracks these things, only to hear that he changed the doors to French doors. I'd heard Noth about French doors, and to install them now means ripping out trim for three doors connected by a long piece of header trim. Cutting out drywall and some framing to make them fit, and lastly removing and cutting back all the shelving I've already built and installed in the linen closet. All of which was gone over with the two owners of my company. When one of the owners showed up to see the progress today ( my main boss), I was happy to find out he was just as surprised. He, like myself said that French doors were way to awkward in such a small hallway. We don't know when or why they got changed. What we do know is the waiting for bi-fold doors will be at least two more months. I suggested I build doors to match the other doors, and continue with the bi-fold plan. The boss agreed that would be not only faster than ripping everything out to make the French doors work, but they just make so much more sense in a small space. Looks like I'm building doors. My boss said "I remember when you built three windows, when I forgot to order them. Now you're building doors like it's just another day at work". He likes that I don't shy away from any project. What I didn't tell him is that it's really not a difficult tasks. Let him think I'm a hero!

This sad indeed. I grew up on her early music. Believe it or not, I still haven't seen Grease and have no interest in doing so. But she did seem like a pretty down to earth and good person. And she was a fellow member of the Rainbow Club after all! R.I.P. Olivia "I honestly love you".

Those top two are very wide. They go above a closet and will be on a track as bypass doors. The other two go above a linen closet and will be typical cabinet doors with euro hinges. They're off to the painters now.

You didn't try to quickly load one in the Volvo? Did somebody call me? I built a few shaker cabinet doors for a couple of storage nooks in the house I'm currently working on. These will match the new shaker doors throughout the house.

Seriously, what year did we build those? You've had them for some time now.

Tell us about those speakers, they're gorgeous! 😉

So it is true what they say... Small state, small bait. Uhm, what was this thread about again?

Louisiana really wants us to like their andouille sausage!

If Texas' lips are moving, you can assume she's lying. She tried to tell me that she was the biggest state in the union. And be careful about building the perfect gyro. Because if you succeed, I'm movin' in! I'd actually marry a woman, if she could make a good gyro and a good fish and chips!

There is a line level output for subs as well as digital processing to make it simple to integrate sub/s. I haven't heard this setup yet, but the reviews are sure favorable. Smart speakers are the future, and KEF has a lot going for it in this game.

There was a 4D version, but Brent ate a biscuit...

What time should I arrive?

If only you lived nearby.

I don't have any experience building in metal. But I am exploring quality indoor griddles. The real key to this dilemma is to make Al believe that he needs a Blackstone grill.

You are the most un-lazy person I know!

RIP Isabella. I guess Nichelle's Son finally has his grubby hands on her money. He's a worthless shit.

Oh dear God! If I owned a Blackstone grill, I'd cook this for the entire neighborhood! Damn this is good!

Hashbrown omelet. In 2018 a coworker took me to Art's diner at 9th and Irving, in San Francisco. Art's was actually run by a lovely Asian couple. He made these thin, crispy hashbrown omelets, and they were fantastic! Sadly Al tells me that they didn't survive the pandemic, as so many restaurants. Yesterday while scrolling YouTube, I ran across this recipe for hashbrown omelets. I used a carbon steel pan, as I don't own a Brownstone grill. I chose sautéed onion & red bell pepper, bacon and pancetta, and stayed with American cheese. I'll report back after I dive into this, but judging by how it looks and smells, I think it's going to be a winner.

Really Jim! You'd almost think that you had a lot going on in your life. P.S. I just posted another B-day.

Short answer: Yes. But as Jeff wisely suggests, that's something that I would gladly pay to have done. There must be a number of good sharpeners in your area. Ask the butcher at your local grocers. He'll have a good name. Or ask the guys at Woodcraft. Wait, isn't Tobe Hooper in your area? Surely he'll know who to call!

And you're ready for a dimm out, brown out or complete black out.
