  1. Thanks! I'm looking forward to it. It's been a while since I've turned some wood. I think I even have a customer already.
  2. Reks your luck has got to be the worst I've seen in a while. Stay away from Vegas at all cost, or get a job there as a cooler.
  3. It's just a small one, but long overdue. Let the turning begin! Well once it arrives anyway.
  4. Well actually I'm not that far along yet.

    UPS Sucks

Well now that was another brilliant UPS move.
  6. I spent yesterday in Austin with luvdunhill. He took me to a great Half Priced Books and then to Waterloo Records. Woo Hoo, I haven't had that experience since the 80's. Picked up... Gregg Allman - I'm No Angel ELO - Out Of The Blue Elton John - Rock Of The Westies Rickie Lee Jones - Rickie Lee Jones Gordon Lightfoot - Sundown Gordon Lightfoot - Summertime Dream Joan Armatrading - The Key The Dream Academy - The Dream Academy & Dire Straights - Dire Straights all on vinyl & a Michael Bubl
  7. Nice! I like the linear trackers too for their ease of use. I recently purchased a Mitsubishi LT-30 (second one I've owned), and it works great. There is a bit of setup and adjustment, but nothing like a standard table. The Mitsu excepts standard mount cartridges as well. I went to Austin today to hang out with luvdunhill, and he took me to a couple of great record shops. I stocked up on cheap vinyl! Congrats on the TT, enjoy it!
  8. Nice place Jay! I hope you get it! I miss the urban lifestyle.
  9. Mmmm...Cracker Barrel! Now I'm craving hashbrown casserol.
  10. Well I've been out of that game too long to be of any help, but how's the new apartment?
  11. Nice snag!
  12. Peanut butter does a nice job, and is completely harmless.
  13. Congrats! Those old McIntosh amps are dead sexy!
  14. Man I'm itchy on these. My ESS AMT 1D speakers I had in the 80's & 90's were fantastic. The Heil transformer is brilliant, but I do require some bass. Just not sure if they'll have much. I'm going to go with the general consensus that these are overpriced though.
  15. Did we talk about a stand Jack? The Asian Satinwood has a Silver tone, and the Wenge is semi-sweet chocolate in darkness, so it really should be a nice combination for your OIIs. The rhinestones, ropelights and dingo balls will just be icing on the cake.

    UPS Sucks

Ditto, I'll rent a horse and buggy before I'll ship anything through UPS again. I've been very lucky with USPS, of coarse their tracking is a joke though. Sorry to hear that though Nate.
  17. Hmmm, some good ideas there. I did just pick up some bargains at soundstagedirect.com. I'll check out Goodwill, Sally's and 1/2 price books soon.
  18. Hey guys I set my turntable up with a new cartridge tonight, dialed in all the settings, connected my phono stage and verified that everything works. However all I have to test it is a slightly warped and slightly dirty 45 rpm from 1972. Where are some good online sources for vinyl? I need at least a few reference albums to get rolling.
  19. Happy Birthday Nate!
  20. Mine was masturbation. Come to think of it some things never change.
  21. I fell roller blading a few years back, and was out of work for a week. I haven't given up my mountain bike yet, but I'm becoming a real wimp.
  22. I imagine he's had 20 or more hobbies since then.
  23. Did a bank get knocked off in the Toronto area? You kids are scoring some nice stuff! Congrats Renato! I still want to audition one at home. I know I've got an amp that can drive them now.
  24. Oh hell yeah! I heard a pair of the V3 recabled RS-1s at the Dallas meet. They are damn nice buddy! Have you heard Alex's cables before? If not you're in for a treat IMO. Congrats!!!
