Well it appears that I've dumped the pics from my camera before loading them onto my computer. This was not intentional, as I keep pics of every stand I build. But Vicki said she was taking it to the mini meet today, so I imagine she'll get some pics to post, along with all the gear on hand hopefully.

I disagree. I have a good concept of what many of the members here have a preference for, and as such I can gleen some useful information until such time that I can listen for myself. I do not however wish to buy any Ultrasone unheard.
-
Well this horse is still very much alive. And I for one want to hear both sides, as I've yet to listen to an Ultrasone.
-
Sounds like things will be "turning around" for you in the near future.
-
The part of the country he's in will be a determining factor as to the MC as well. You could leave wood to dry for decades here in Texas, and never achieve 10%. In Alaska it would be that dry in months.

Yeah, at that price they'll be fun to tinker with. The 32 ohm are bipolar with holes on both magnets, even though the pic shows otherwise. The pics are of the 4 and 8 ohm drivers he's also selling, but not suitable for headphones IMO. And that price is for 4 drivers.
-
No that's really not the case, or what people are trying to get across. Your 600/650 will sound fine on the mini

They're NOS Orthodynamic or bipole planar tweeters. erikj found them and posted about them in the Orthodynamic Roundup thread on HF. They are believed to be the same or very similar drivers that are in the Audio Technica ATH-2 Orthodynamic headphones. They seem to be well thought of so far. http://cgi.ebay.com/SFI-BIPOLE-RIBBON-TWEETER-4PC-SETS-EMIT-R-TYPE-32ohm_W0QQitemZ280139614222QQihZ018QQcategoryZ137944QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262

I only pulled the trigger on them tonight on ebay. I'll let you know once they arrive, but I fully expect them to sound like poo. Of coarse I have no real basis for this opinion, except who's ever heard of Pioneer SE-7's?
-
Hey how often do you get to make a Purple and Pink headphone stand? I had to jump at the chance. Of coarse Fitz requested those colors a while back, but I'm trying to butch him up. Actually I really enjoyed building this stand, it's a little less structured than my usual fair, and was a bit freeing. Besides it had been bugging me that Vicki wasn't rewarded for her efforts. Glad you like it Vicki, I hope it looks good with your cans!

Some SFI Orthodynamic drivers, and a pair of vintage Pioneer SE-7 headphones. The Pioneers will be possible donor frames for the new drivers. I just liked the look of the all aluminum vintage goodness. Now if I can talk fatman711 into making me a new headband for these I'm set.
-
Hey cool, you got it?
-
I used to like you.
-
Uh the reference to beyond my capabilities was aimed at Fitz' Senn. cables, I forgot to paste in his quote. Who knows maybe one day I'll actually learn to solder, but I still think none of you are in any danger of being surpassed.
-
Yeah right! I still get my soldering iron and curling iron mixed up, my hair is testament to that. I don't think you're in any danger of me trying to copy that! They are sweet, and totally beyond my capabilities. Oh heck yeah! I'm glad we decided no techflex on that, that color looks really nice! Those are new Neutrik connectors? They look very nice!
-
They shipped really fast. The plugs are nice quality, so hopefully the jacks will be too.
-
Thanks, and the banana plugs threaded beautifully. Marc's getting pretty close to finishing up the tweaks on my Beta22 and Opus, so I'll be able to try these out on my new speakers soon.
-
The Markertek package arrived today, and I waisted no time. My first cable build...

Very nice Core Designs goodies Voltron! He does nice work!

Sadly the plinth is packed full of mechanical parts and PCB boards. The design just doesn't lend itself easily to a completely new plinth. I am however going to overlay the existing plinth with some nice exotic wood. I just have been too busy with work lately, but I'll post pics as soon as I get to it. I have an idea for an Art Deco inspired plinth that would be a great choice for the Thorens IMO. If and when I do this I'll of coarse post lots of pics.

My new Omega Grande 6's arrived today. The Macassar Ebony veneer is very nice! And the magnetic grills are cool, even though I probably won't use them. Also received my new pads for the woody CD3K's, and my banana plugs for my new speaker cable project. It's like Christmas!
-
A refurbished Thorens TD 124 is really peaking my interest. I could build a crazy cool plinth for one, and they have quite a following.
-
That's even funnier because Frozen North is the name of a great electronics supply house in my former hometown of Anchorage, Alaska.

Wow! You know you can look at all this as your life is anything but boring! I hope they find the asshole that hit you and left the scene. Anyone can have an accident, but leaving the scene with someone injured is unforgivable. I also hope you feel better soon! I think that each member should send you his or her lucky charm. If we get enough of them sent off we just may be able to ward of the bad mojo that is kickin' your ass. Oh and play up the sympathy date for all it's worth!
