That is funny as hell! And that just may be my new favorite logo! Now who's gonna do a logo for my new marketable scent...Teste.
  2. Just saw Willie recently, and he's still kickin' ass on that guitar. I missed out on tickets to see B.B. several years ago in Anchorage. Then I heard from a friend of a friend that he knew the owners of a local Blues club well, and would most likely show up after the concert. I got there an hour before the concert ended, and got a table right next to the stage. Sure enough about 1 1/2 hrs. later he and the band showed up. He played for 2 hours about 8' away from me.
  3. The Twisted Pear Audio buffalo is supposed to be very nice, but I wouldn't rule out the Opus either. IMO it outperforms the Lavry DA10 and the Benchmark DAC1.
  4. That is really cool Fitz!
  5. Happy Birthday!
  6. Coming from Alaska I have a fondness for Subies. Nice car morphsci!
  7. Oberon Audio Aton Series CDT-1 CD Player. True balanced outputs as well as SE output and tube buffered SE output. A nice player, I had it for about 8 months before going to a dedicated CD Transport.
  8. Cool, I'll have to look for one, thanks.
  9. Ah the 2008, I almost bought a stock unit before finding the Oberon CDP I used to have. Those mods look really nice! And I hate to be a killjoy but that player really doesn't need wood accents. It's an all out industrial design assault, and it would take away from the design IMHO. Of coarse the customer is always right, so if you insist...
  10. Fair enough, I realized it was wood, but I guess what I really meant was did your lathe come with that mount? Mine only came with a chuck similar to this... I've been considering a jaw chuck like this... but what you have there would be a cheaper option, and would accomplish what I need.
  11. Smeggy what kind of chuck are you using here? And where did you get it?
  12. I tagged onto a VT4C.com order of luvdunhill's a little while back. I didn't expect them so soon. The quality is fantastic, and the cone feet and record clamp are seriously heavy pieces. I'll most definitely order from them again. Quite inexpensive too, IIRC I paid about $105.00 total.
  13. Yeah I saw that from the sale thread over there. Congrats! That's the nicest looking pair of Sextetts I've seen, including my very nice pair.
  14. The Vestigal tonearm was the arm mated to the classic Transcriptors Skeleton.
  15. OK one more thing. I had to pick this gem up. It will be installed on the Thorens TD-160 Mk.II which will be modded with a new Wenge plinth. So the idea with all the new TT's I've been picking up is to mod them with wooden plinths and new parts, then sell them. Is it bad that I don't want to sell them now? Is it redundant to have 3 very different TT's on top of my racks? I have a giant slab of 3" thick Maple that I could place on top of my two new racks, and it will fit the 3 TT's and my CD transport. Tell me guys is this crazy, or is there justification for my collection? There just so different and cool in their own ways!
  16. I paid a little bit more, but not too much. This one is in almost mint condition.
  17. I paid next to nothing for it. It has several inputs, and my plan is to use it with my PC, as I never do any critical listening with MP3 anyway.
  18. Had a bit of a shopping spree today. I'm nearing the end of my audio purchases for a while.
  19. I found these new for $185 ea. on Amazon. That's about as cheap as any rack I've found, and nicer than most.
  20. One Yamaha PF-800 in pristine condition and two Salamander Archetype 5.0 racks I've run out of room in the rack that I built, and it's time to move on.
  21. Nice work! I'm still undecided as to my two pair of SFIs. I bought some old Pioneer donor phones that I may use, and I'm thinking of woodies for the second pair. It may be a while before I get to those projects though.
