  1. DigiPete I'd love to see your Pearl build, as well as the rest of your vinyl setup. Congrats on the new cartridge!
  2. OK old friends are poppin' up everywhere now. Welcome Dash!
  3. Hmmm, well if you're going that route I have long list of things I'd like from there...let's talk. However I'd just walk out with them...have you seen how fat he's gotten? He'd never catch you.
  4. Ah, thanks Duggeh.
  5. I was saving this one for edwood's birthday, but I couldn't wait.
  6. OK I know I'm going to incur the wrath of the SciFi sect, but what the hell is a Dalek anyway? Is it from a movie?
  7. Another way to go that I've also wanted to build is a direct drive turntable. A custom plinth could be built for a Technics SP10, SP15, SP25, or one of the Denon drop ins. That would just require a tonearm/cartridge and you're in business. Don't forget that a build like mine also requires a motor/housing & speed controller. All told with phono stage and cartridge included, I've got about $2000.00 invested in parts and materials. I think a good direct drive table as mentioned above can be built for about $900.00 in parts and materials, depending on the table chosen. I'd also be very happy to help you along the way with any information or ideas I can give you.
  8. I've been curious about the ShamWow, or any man made shammy material. I found that thick, dense felt worked quite well for the YH-100, but not sure yet what will work well on the T50RP driver.
  9. If memory serves I paid $200.00 new. It could have been $150.00 though. I would think half of that would be a pretty good deal. I remember hearing the 500s at CompUSA somewhere around 2000-2001, and they weren't anywhere near as nice. I'd hold out for the 702.
  10. I weave the underarm hair of polynesian fisherman. They must be between 24 and 37 years of age for the best effect. And I find that if they've used roll on deoderant as opposed to gel the highs are better.

OK that's it...now you're embarrassing even the other Canadians!
  12. Actually Wualta that is the set I had. The Black plastic and the screens are exactly the same. I wasn't aware they made so many models.
  13. I approve of Smeggy's approval of Dusty.
  14. Sure, it's not going anywhere.
  15. I'd talk to Mark Schifter over at AV123.com. AA was his company, and if he can't source any AA I2S cables, he can sure give you some pertinent info on compatible cables. I wouldn't be surprised if his Perpetual Technologies I2S cable uses the same pinout. There is a forum there that should prove quite useful in answering your questions.
  16. Hmmm, this guy seems familiar.
  17. Wow Teddy almost looks alive there, must be an old picture.
  18. My first computer speakers were the then top of the line Monsoons. Can't remember the model number ATM, but they were a really nice sounding pair of speakers. Ah, it was the Monsoon iM-700
  19. Wow, great job on the cleanup Andy! I think letting Alex take it from there is a good decision. The man does awesome work.
  20. I think it's been updated to Tuesday!
  21. And thus a new signature was born.

  23. Did you buy the steamer or Richard Simmons?
  24. Very nice Fitz!
  25. It really is too bad, because the quality is really outstanding at that price point. I would have kept it, but my rig change really necessitated a front loader that I could put in my rack.
