  1. My first computer speakers were the then top of the line Monsoons. Can't remember the model number ATM, but they were a really nice sounding pair of speakers. Ah, it was the Monsoon iM-700
  2. Wow, great job on the cleanup Andy! I think letting Alex take it from there is a good decision. The man does awesome work.
  3. I think it's been updated to Tuesday!
  4. And thus a new signature was born.

    Bearback sex is so dangerous!
  6. Did you buy the steamer or Richard Simmons?
  7. Very nice Fitz!
  8. It really is too bad, because the quality is really outstanding at that price point. I would have kept it, but my rig change really necessitated a front loader that I could put in my rack.
  9. When Nate bought that kit it arrived with a torn box and parts leaking out. He had to try and figure out what was missing without a bill of parts. He had quite a time building it due to less than perfect instruction translations IIRC. Hopefully they've worked out the kinks. They were supposed to introduce a higher end transport, but I guess that got canceled. Too bad because the drawings were very cool.
  10. Yes, I agree. I'm a big fan of my HD580, and with the foam mod it's less dark too. I need to spend a little time with a 650 again though. The Beta22 should really improve what I heard the last time I had one. I think the cost of the X-10 is about as high as I could justify, with as little time as I spend with a portable rig. I can't even consider adding a portable amp into the mix. Happily the X-10 doesn't seem to really need one.
  11. I've owned stock ER4Ps and I had the P-S converter cable as well. I've also spent a little time with Tony's APS recabled ER4P. I agree with the midbass bump, but it's not overexagerated. It does lend a bit fuller sound, and I happen to like that. I'm also getting acquainted with the Klipsch Image X-10. It's a completely different flavor than the Etty, but very nice so far. It's tilted a bit toward a more uephoric sound. It's an IEM I think Senn. 650 fans might like.
  12. I've always wanted to work on a circuit in Posh Spice!
  13. Pars, I have a 1.2 sitting here gathering dust. If you're interested PM me, I'm sure we can come to an agreement.
  14. Your DIY Hi-Fi transport edged out everything I threw at it. The Lambda was pretty close though. The reason I didn't mention the DIY Hi-Fi as an option for peanutbutterjam was only due to the difficulty in obtaining one. It would most certainly be my first choice in transports below $1,500.00, and might embarrass a few over that price point. BTW the remote is in transit to you Earl.
  15. What will you be amping them with Earl?
  16. Tony was gracious enough to buy two pair of T50RP for he and I. They're shipping to me directly, and I'll mod them ala Smeggy. Smeg I may have a few questions for you when the time comes, hope you don't mind.
  17. I see remnants of silicone caulk. Someone has attempted a repair on these it seems, and it was a fail.
  18. I would think JB Weld would be plenty strong, and somewhat easy to work with. I've used in to bond aluminum together with great results.
  19. Absolutely, and while many people seem to think that there should be no difference, in fact there are. I've compared several transports as well as CDPs used as a transport, and they all had different signatures. However the good news is that there are several less expensive transports that perform quite well. A good used PS Audio Lambda transport is one of my favorites. The California Audio Labs unit stands up quite well too.
  20. This thread is getting lots of good attention lately. As Head-Case is very much my prefered forum these days, and the Ortho thread was my favorite thread on HF, this makes me very happy!
  21. Stupid question Duggeh... I know that you Brits refer to a meal when you say tea, but is it only proper to refer to lunch as tea, or is it the same for dinner? Here in the South many people refer to lunch as dinner, and dinner as supper. That quite frankly drives a Northerner like me crazy.
  22. Marc, as small as the ribbons are that I'm using in my upcoming speaker project, wouldn't they incorporate well into a headphone design?
  23. I think I'll probably buy it in 09', but I'll wait a bit.
  24. Let me clarify...I will perform the screen mod for free on the pair of Sextetts that Nate is selling.
