What are you listening to Part Two
- What did you do today?
Duggeh so sorry to hear that. I was in my mid 40s before I experienced a close loss like that. It was my Grandmother, and I know exactly what you mean by "horrible and alien experience", it was like seeing someone else inhabiting her body. She was not there anymore, just a shell with some poor woman in pain. That's when I discovered that they need to wait until a family member tells them to give her all the morphine she needs to be comfortable. They can't suggest that legally in this country. One week after my Grandmother passed, one of my favorite Aunts passed away, then just 9 days from then my Father died. It was the worst month I've had on this Earth. Especially since like most men there were too many unsaid things between my Father and I. I felt like a zombie for weeks. But you get through these things, and you get stronger because of them. It didn't prepare me, but it did make it at least more familiar a few years later when my little 5 y.o. Nephew passed. That was the toughest of all! I don't know much about your Grandfather, but I know a bit about you old bean, and I know for certain that you made your Grandfather a very proud man indeed! You're a good guy Doug, and you'll find a way to use this experience to be an even better, more empathetic man. My glass is raised to you both!- Happy Birthday Jinp6301

Damn nice view! Is that drive as steep as it appears to be?- Grado HF-2 thread
Nova chucks rule! Turning is always fun, even on a treadle lathe. The right tools can make it even more fun however, so I get your point.- ceramic dildos (probably NSFW)
Well you're the better man then. I have Demi Moore getting a reach around stuck in my head! All in all not a bad thing to have stuck in your head.- What did you do today?
Duggeh I'm sorry to hear your Grandfather is not well. I hope he recovers, but if not I hope he doesn't suffer. Colin congratulations! Now go get a job. That's the best thing to do with a DT880.- What are you listening to Part Two
- Pass Pearl PCBs and related parts
Is mine finished yet?- Pass Pearl PCBs and related parts
Is that a balanced Pearl? When will you have mine ready?- Post the last thing you bought!
What sandals are those? I live in sandals here on the island, and those look nice.- Vintage DAC: Sonic Frontiers SFD-2
Hmmm, I'm afraid I have to agree with Deepak on this one. I find the DAC1's top end to be too edgy. As far as the SF DAC, that seems a bit high for the age of the DAC. I agree there are better choices in that price range.- The Headcase Stax thread
Yeah, that's not generally the kind of post that takes a set screw.- Happy birthday nikongod!
Damn, I thought I posted here already. Sorry, Happy Belated Birthday Ari!- Luxman P1 vs Headamp GSX
Well said. The option I like is to have a fairly neutral amp (β22) and source, and then if I want a euphonic flavor now and then, that can be accomplished with a euphonic headphone. The modded Orthodynamics fit the bill there for me, and there are times when I do like that flavor. Though I've yet to hear the combination, I assume that the β22/K1000 combo will be quite neutral for most of my listening tastes.- What did you do today?
And it sounds like she has two very good parents. That will definitely help her through this rough time. Soon when she's healthy and happy and moving forward in life, all that will be left from this time is the memory and knowledge that she has a great family that saw her through the hard times. She'll be in my thoughts, and I hope things get easier soon for you and your family Mike!- Happy Birthday Pars!
- Go figure
And all this time I thought you were just happy to see me.- How in the hell does Facebook work?!!!
Oh thank god I'm not alone on that one. Was starting to wonder if there was something I just wasn't getting.- Does anyone use Twitter here?
Just another stupid site that will eventually be full of old men trying to pick up teenage girls.- ceramic dildos (probably NSFW)
Ouch! Wait, I thought you lived in Washington? Aerius lives in Toronto. - What did you do today?
