  1. It's really pretty simple. Let me know when you want to try, and I'll give you some good tips. One day I hope to purchase a nice vacuum bag clamping system.
  2. Hmmm, not being a big action/blockbuster guy I'm not sure I totally agree. I purchased the BBC Planet Earth series on BD and it's absolutely fantastic. I consider it a reference disc. Also I own Apocalypto and Pan's Labyrinth on BD, and those are also just incredible as compared to the DVD counterparts. So really I consider movies with really good cinematography as a great choice for BD. Also great soundtracks, as BDs audio is far superior to DVD IMO.
  3. Nice review.
  4. I suspected your true identity the whole time! OK, enough mystery. Spill the beans!
  5. I'm also at a loss as to what's on the middle shelf, but the cables and shelves look fantastic!
  6. Nice place! Colin, don't judge all K340s on that particular pair. That pair is the polar opposite of my old pair. I had them with me for a couple of weeks, as Alex sent them to me after he recabled them. I made the wooden trim pieces for a different Matt, who owned them at the time. I also found these to be muddy, with an odd midrange coloration. I assumed these were what people refer to as the bass heavy version, but they sound nothing at all like the pair I owned for 27 years, and I did plenty of direct comparisons. As for the K1000, toe out can definitely help to tune them to your taste, although I tend to like the treble. I also am quite fond of using them with an active subwoofer. It's an experience that's hard to explain. Much closer to speaker presentation than any headphone can come. I'm still kicking myself for not buying them back when they were first introduced. They are my ultimate headphone.
  7. The Oppo BDP-83 analog output sounds amazing indeed! I've yet to purchase an SACD, but I do have plans to try it soon.
  8. I would seriously doubt that Dolby Headphone would be output to the analog outs. It would seem more reasonable to get a long cable and connect your WinDVD output to the receivers input. Anyone else have any suggestions?
  9. What are they? Can't seem to find them online. EDIT: Found 'em!
  10. Happy Birthday Mike!
  11. So buy the LMC-1... Videogon ForSale: Emotiva Lmc-1: Perfect Condition,
  12. In Chekhontes defense you probably wouldn't make it to the toilet either if you had to pull your junk outa that bodytard.
  13. Not only do I not pee in the sink, I have to admit to something some may find a bit odd. When at someone elses home, if I need to pee, I kneel down on my knees so that no urine splashes onto the toilet seat rim. At home I sit to pee for the same reason. I keep telling myself that I should install a urinal in my bathroom. One day I might.
  14. Man what kind of sink do you have, 'cause you're one short motherfucker!
  15. Buy Porter-Cable 12" Dovetail Jigs, Deluxe Model 4212, Porter-Cable 12" Porter Cable 4212 Simple, elegant and stout. It's also extrememly easy to set up, and has built in depth gauges for setting your router bits.
  16. I love it! Can I use that name? ββQ22 A bit after luvdunhill repaired the smoked board I starting having more issues. Nate was generous enough to take a look. He's replacing at least the one fried board, and I think another that was having issues. After that the amp and sigma22 PS will both be recased in larger dovetailed wooden cases I made, as well as my TPA Darwin. Here's a sneak peek...

Do they make a model with a breast?
  18. Dew eeet!
  19. I'm wondering if that 1100 DAC is the one I owned breifly? I can't remember who I sold it to, but I was impressed with the sound. Congrats Renato!
  20. As the owner of a Bonfire β22 I must say that I don't believe the amp itself is to blame. In my case it was an unfortunate set of events in a meet setting, with too much going on around us. Before that the amp was stable as a rock for nearly a year. It's a damned fine amp, and I can't wait to put mine back in my system when it's finished being rebuilt. Gary I'm really sorry to hear about your issues. I must say that I don't think this was a good project to cut your teeth on though buddy. Hopefully you can recoupe some of your money.
  21. I happen to like the Super Zeros, at least for what they are. A sub is most definitely needed however.
  22. I am so damned impressed with Emotiva's little ERM-1 speakers that I'm definitely planning on buying their UMC-1 and UPA-7 amp at some point. The sound and build quality of these speakers are so far above their $149.00 ea. price tag it's not even funny. I just hope that their electronics hold that same build quality. We haven't heard any negative comments from Mike about his ERC-1 though. And his recommendation in this thread speaks to the quality IMO. I want him to buy a pair of XPA-1s, so we can hear about them in detail. Hurry up Mike!
  23. Happy Birthday!
  24. I don't know, I think peepee-hunter, peepee-lover, peepee-servicer all might fit him better. Either way it's missing something... -=peepee-servicer=- That's the ticket!
  25. Happy Birthday!
