  1. Happy Birthday!
  2. They arrived today. Let me start by saying that I was pleasantly surprised upon opening the cardboard box... The wooden box was an unexpected touch. They feel pretty solid, and the quality isn't half bad. I'll definitely be buffing the name off of the cups, but other than that I'm fairly impressed with the look and feel of these headphones. The leather is decent. The headframe is not as cheesy as the pics led us to think, and the Black piece that attaches the forks to the band has a nice rubber coated feel. Even the cable has a nice thickness to it, though it's a bit stiff ATM. Now I know some of you are going to ask me how it sounds...well keep in mind that I don't have a headphone amp with me ATM. But I was curious myself, so I used the headphone output of my Denon AVR, with the Oppo as a CD source. I've only listened for a few minutes, and the gear chain is mid-fi at best, but I will say that they're not crap. Had I spent $200.00 I may be a bit disappointed, but at $60.00 they're pretty damn good. They have a forward character, with slightly rolled off treble, decent bass response and an overall fun flavor. Somewhat reminiscent of the Goldring DR-150. I think I may actually keep these stock until the Beta22 is back home, just to see how these might scale. The site described these as having Zebrawood cups. I'm not sure that's accurate. They look more like Pearwood to me, but Zebrawood does vary a lot from tree to tree. I happen to like the look more than Zebrawood, so either way...
  3. Very nice Nate. I love how the growth rings darken toward the bottom. Good choice of stock!
  4. I think I need to quit cleaning out my ears with a hot soldering iron. That or the heroin probably had something to do with it. Fitz- on Steve's computer (I get around)
  5. Careful, that desk has just been wiped down!
  6. Indeed!

Bizzar! It's an odd mix with the rough sections combined with the synthesized, poppy chorus. Kind of a Rammstein meets Jonas Bros. meets Cher kind of thing. One thing's for sure...I'd like to be their Chiropractor!

I had about three drinkin' days. That was enough for me. I decided I didn't make a pretty drunk. Not that I'm that pretty sober, but you get my drift.

Nah, that was back in my drinkin' days.
  10. I don't mind it when it's slow. I get tired of you guys tracking shit on the carpet.
  11. Great! Now I'm picturing you buck naked, nipples pierced and your schlong tucked between your legs.

When I think of anyone holding my penis, it's usually latex gloves that come to mind. Me included.
  13. Lol! Was just wondering if you're getting to try new things. One of my favorite parts of traveling is trying new cuisine. Hopefully the stout is at least a new brand.
  14. Yoo hoo, it's now sooner-thirty!
  15. Which switches operate the ray guns, to shoot down those '50s B grade aliens?
  16. OK, that one got me!
  17. It won't be closed for long. Hmmm, you may be onto something there. I think I may be able to use a combo of that and wood to accomplish the task. Thanks!

  19. How's the food down there Duggeh?
  20. Have a good flight and trip!
  21. I'm thinking that with room for dual drivers (SFI), one could be tuned for bass, while the other is tuned for mids and highs. And possibly the mid/high driver might be angled. Any thoughts? P.S. Anyone know of a lightweight product I could pour into the stock cups to fill the interior? It would need to harden to a workable stage. I'd like to mill out a specific, tunable pocket for each driver, instead of trying to work with the existing wide open space.
  22. Yeah, but so does Maggie Smith, so...

Well in most cases I'd agree with you, but since it's Mexico it'll probably come down to who greases the Judge the most.
  24. Oh yes, I see how that could make for a fun read.
  25. You don't have much on your plate.
