  1. Well when I remodeled my own bathroom last I didn't feel like moving the toilet drain, so I got an estimate from a local plumber. $3000.00 to move it 2' away. I decided I could manage after all, and had it done in half a day for the cost of a jackhammer rental, bag of concrete and PVC pieces. Well under $100.00 IIRC. I went with a Kohler mainly because I love that they use a 3 bolt system to secure their tanks, instead of the standard 2.
  2. Indeed!
  3. Love the cabinetry and the flooring, and the copper/tile sink is brilliant! Is that marble on the floor Mike? I'm glad people are going back to dark cabinets. I'm so tired of the light wood phase.
  4. Well I certainly wouldn't consider the OII as clinical. It does have a warm envolving character, but I'm not sure 'fun' would be the right adjective for it. So overall I agree with you, Stax are a bit more on the tecnical side rather than the fun side.
  5. That is no surprise. The Monkey is not a real person. He's a droid we made with an amalgamation of our joint characteristics. That's the main reason he's so popular on Head-Case, and why we tend to agree with him so readily.
  6. It's going to come down to personal choice Zack. I really preferred the LCD-2 to the HE-5, HE-5LE and HE-6, and by a fair margin. Though some feel differently. Hopefully you will find a way to audition both before buying. While there are differences between the HE's, IMO they're subtle, so auditioning any of the three should give you a pretty good idea of the HE sound character.
  7. Come over to the dark side Luke.
  8. Thaddy, I'm going to leave character here and actually answer seriously. I think the LCD-2 is the right choice, and I'm recommending them because they are so envolving and fun to listen to. There are more technical headphones, but Orthodynamics are just so enjoyable, and the LCD-2 is the top tier of Orthos IMO. I will most certainly obtain a pair at some point myself.
  9. Congrat! Comfortable is good!
  10. Broken water line, or leaky roof? The water line would be the less costly fix.
  11. Happy Birthday Matt!
  12. Thanks for all your support guys. I'm feeling a little better. It's the little things that still catch me, like looking behind my desk chair for Fred before rolling it back, or not having him licking the water off of my feet when I get out of the shower (I think I'll actually be OK with that one once some time has passed). He loved, loved, loved the beach, and I took him often. He also loved playing with my co-workers dogs, and pissing in their yard. That's where he's burried, as I have no grass. So all in all he had a great, if short 6 years on this planet.
  13. I thought this was magic smoke?... I just can't keep up with you kids these days.
  14. I burried Fred today. Last night at about 3:15 am I heard him make a strange weezing noise. I reached over and put my hand on him and could feel him convulsing some. I sat up and put him in my lap and stroked his head and within about 10 minutes he was gone. It was pretty peaceful after I gathered him into my lap, and I could tell that put him at ease a bit, so I'm very glad that I awoke to be there for him when he passed. 24 days ago Fred weighed 22 lbs. This morning when I weighed him he weighed 12 lbs. I don't think I've ever had a more loyal friend, or have ever been as loved by an animal as with he. It's going to be very different around the house now, and I'm admittedly not doing as well with it as I had hoped. He's burried under a nice shade tree, with his bed and his favorite toy (a stuffed flamingo). Here he is over two years ago in much better health...
  15. Happy Birthday!

    Audeze LCD-2

Personally I didn't find the LCD-2 that hard to drive. My guess would be yes it will drive it well enough. I happened to prefer the LCD-2 on SS amps as well. The tube amps I tried (several at CJ) were not as good of a match IMO.
  19. Happy Birthday Ian!

    Audeze LCD-2

I like the new grills, they look even better IMO. The wood is a really durable hardwood, that should hold up to plenty of usage.

But Boogie Oogie Oogie was typically in the late '70s.
  23. Damn I wish someone would have filmed that and stuck it on YouTube! Not that I wish you any pain, but the way you describe the story it had to be funny as hell to see.
  24. The thing is when they do burn you're well aware of it. You'd smell it and see it upon opening the case. My guess is a simple fix like a fuse or loose connection. Without a TRS jack on my amp any longer, the burning issue is a thing of the past for me. At least one can hope, twice was quite enough. Nugget Audio service is exceptional, as was Luvdunhill Audio!

    Audeze LCD-2

I'd like to see the new grill Shelly. Did the headband get a leather covering as well?
