Angry I can understand, but guilty? That could have happened to any of us. No way to have seen that one coming IMO. And I'd rather be the guy that believes in people and gets burned once in a Blue moon, than the bitter assholes that never trust in anyone.

Those were just some quick and dirty boxes for a pair of Cicada drivers Nate had. I used that many screws more for the aesthetic than for any other reason. We used a stainless, torx screw that looked pretty cool IMO. Kind of an homage to Harbeth.

Well if you happened to be planning a Port A weekend sometime soon I'd offer my shop to you. Bring Shelly and we'll have a micro meet. You can do it with a palm sander too, but start with about 80 grit paper to sand the bulk away. I stick the foam sheets to the back of the baffle after I've sealed the back of the baffle with lacquer, then screw the baffles in. Maybe Nate has a pic of the boxes I made in the same mannor for him? Oh here's one... You can see all the screw holes I recessed with a countersink bit.

Choosing between Audio-gd FUN and Nuforce HDP

I used to drink Boones Farm when I was 16, because we could get it cheap. Tickled Pink was my favorite, and by favorite I mean the flavor I could actually hold down. That is some gawd awful stuff! -

Penis gourds are all the rage dude!

Sorry to bring up a sore topic. That guy deserves whatever bad Karma comes his way. Most of us over here are slightly more settled into our systems. I've quit the upgrade train for the most part. I have a nice DAC coming and may get a pair of LCD-2 Ortho headphones, but other than that I'm enjoying the system I finally built up to. This place is much more about hangin' with good peeps, but we occasionally talk gear. Again, good to see you back man!

I always cover all the interior seems with NP-1 (a type of flexible caulk) even though they've been glued. It's added insurance for an air tight fit. As for the slightly out of square dilemma, either choice will work. You'll want a decent belt sander to flush up the edges, or if you go the Bondo route make sure you use a mud knife (knife for floating sheetrock seems) that's wider than your speakers, so that you can use the cabinet edges as a guide for filling the Bondo to the correct level. It'll take more than one application, and a little previous Bondo experience will go a long way. I like to glue the baffles on sealed speaker enclosures, and even on ported enclosures I'd be sure to use a foam seal of some kind. Krazy Foam self adhesive sheets from Hobby Lobby work well for this.

X3 for penis gourd! Can't you just hear Homer Simpson saying "Mmmm, penis gourd"? -
Oops, my bad. I thought I heard that somewhere. Fred's foot is much better today, and he's pretty spunky for his condition. I think he must have read all the comments and decided he wasn't ready to cash in yet. I'm quite happy for the good day!

She's gorgeous! A big congrat Fry family!

Hey Thaddy, good to see you back! I thought after that bad fiasco where several people got burned you might be gone for good. Great to see you getting back into it.

This will be a day you'll always remember Naaman. Wishing you and your wife the best of luck today. I thought Jarheads got up at the crack of dawn every day?
-
Thanks Naaman. Glad you made it home. Get some rest, cause you're gonne need that picture shooting finger in good shape soon. Can't wait to see her pic! Fingers crossed for an easy, as planned delivery.

Yes, but I hear it's only allowed to age to year 11, then the bunghole is opened. Sorry, I couldn't stop myself.

Thanks guys. Al, that's the hard part. For now he seems happy still. He wags his tail when I talk to him, and laps up all of my affection. To see him so crippled up is just damn hard though. He's doing pretty good about learning to cope with the sudden blindness already, although he still walks into walls now and then. My Mom is encouraging me to put him down now, and that's making it harder to make a good judgment. I think I'm going to just tell her to stay out of this one, and I'll know when it's the right time. She means well, but is hardly making the best decisions herself at age 72, and turning into an old person quite rapidly. I'll ask her if she'd like me to be so quick to decide when to have her put down. Actually you've helped me to decide that I'll wait a bit longer. At least until I know for sure he's no longer happy to be around. Thanks!

I didn't yet update what the vet had to say about my dog Fred, so I'll do that now. It is indeed Canine Diabetes, and even the Dr. was surprised at how sudden the disease has taken hold. I had absolutely no warning whatsoever, and then within 3 days he went way, way downhill. To start with my dog has been fed nothing but Science Diet dog food from the moment I got him. He never gets table scraps and the only treats he gets are carrots, which he loves. However I got him from some people that couldn't keep him when he was 4 months old, so I have no idea what he ate before then. But still, I've had him for 6 years now. He was literally running all over the house, playing like always until just a few weeks ago. The vet told me that the disease has caused severe damage already, and he didn't think we could expect much improvement at this stage, even with aggressive medication. He also told me that he expected that his feet would start hurting him to the point he couldn't walk very soon, and indeed today he started limping with one forefoot in the air. It's easy to tell that the other feet are sore too. Also today he started drinking much less water than he has been in the last few weeks. He's lost a hell of a lot of weight in two weeks as well. He just sleeps all day now, so I think it's time to have him put down, but that's gonna kill me! It's the speed of all this that just has me stunned. I feel terrible about letting this happen, although the vet tells me there was no way I could've seen it coming so fast. I know he's a dog, but he really is my best buddy. Anyway I'm going to see how he feels tomorrow, and decide if I need to end his missery on Friday. This sucks!

:prettyprincess: Uhm, I kind of called Audeze and had them change the shipping address on your order to my house. Hope that's OK?

It said... "My reward to you and the rest of the 5% is an unusually large penis, use the Tice wisely my Son."

Sorry Brent, hang in there.

I'm only here for the penis references.
