  1. I'm not quite sure how to feel about this 'NEW' Dinny.
  2. I think he's a masochist waiting for the next good beating...
  3. Happy Birthday Marc.
  4. That is great news Tyll. Now I can look forward to some meaningful and non-biased impressions. Probably won't buy due to price, but it doesn't stop me from wanting to hear what they have to offer.
  5. Just give it time. It generally takes about a month to adjust to a memory foam bed. Don't get worried if it makes you sore before that. Smooth sailing and much less tossing and turning after the break in period.
  6. Sweet Al! Keep us posted, especially about that record cleaner.
  7. Happy Birthday!
  8. Late to the party. Happy belated Birthday Vicki!
  9. Happy Birthday!

  12. Yep, my thoughts too. That's really good stat territory, and I doubt they've improved enough to compete in that segment.
  13. I've got an HP G56 laptop (no digital out), and I'd like an easy (read cheap) solution to route all of my iTunes music into my DAC. My Adcom GDA 700 DAC has toslink, S/PDIF, and AES/EBU, but no USB. Is there an outboard soundcard of some type that would work well for me? Or another solution that is cost effective, as I do plan on getting the Cambridge iPod dock at some point in the near future, and won't need the laptop at that point. I'm not up to date on CPU based music systems.
  14. I've been a fan of two way monitors + sub for quite some time. I think that the M&K speakers of the early 80s struck a chord with me. IME, for music a 10" sub is generally the best balance of deep bass and speed. I have a hard time imagining that a 3" sub can reproduce enough low end energy, but I've been mistaken plenty of times before. I've always wanted to build a credenza style cabinet that would incorporate 2 10" active subs. One which my components could sit on top of. A custom cabinet could be built in almost any configuration, as long as the internal volume is tailored to the woofer. It could even be built into the back of a CD storage case, side table or curio cabinet. BTW Don, thanks for the package. I'm still discovering the music therein!
  15. I've heard good things about the Eastwood powder coating kit. You'll definitely want to purchase a separate oven for this, as the oven can no longer be used for food after powder coating. The good thing is that used ovens with burnt out stove top elements are usually had pretty cheap.
  16. Have a great day!
  17. Nice Biggie!
  18. Congrat Tom! Wayne, I know this is my chance to impart a little 'queer eye for the straight' guy wisdom here, but sadly I haven't a clue. Does that make me a complete failure?
  19. That is truly freaky looking. Your hair matches your glasses frame perfectly though.
  20. Al, I hope we'll get to see pics once the job is completed. Sounds fantastic!
  21. Sounds like a great rig, that's going to get even greater in a few days. Nice work securing awesome gear.
  22. Just so you don't get the wrong idea, normally I'm all about letting people come out when they're comfortable doing so, but fuck it, I'm outing this guy! See the expression on the guy behind the rider? Where the other guy looks miffed, if not actually a bit stand offish, this guy is giving that come hither look. He's learned to accentuate those cheek bones, and give the pouty lip thing all at the same time. And if that's not enough, I submit the right hand. 'Nuff said!

    Turn Me On

Wow, some really good suggestions here! Now I'm busy researching. Al, thanks for the tip and that link! Dan, I've been a Junkies fan since '90 or '91. Got turned on to them while commercial fishing, by a busty blonde that would've knocked you off your feet. Skully, Tift Merritt is awesome! I'm her newest fan as of this moment. Will research all the other tips. Doug, I've seen that guy somewhere before, but forgot about him. Cool stuff!
  24. Wow! A big, huge congrat Dad!
