And now what did you do TODAY?
For those that don't know, or were wondering why the Black band across the Head-Case logo, we lost one of our own last Friday. He went by NightWoundsTime on the forum, but he was Matt or Matt the younger to most of us that knew him. He was definitely one of the good ones, with a heart bigger than either state I've lived in. He was far too young and far too loved to leave so soon. He will not be forgotten!

Shows without a bad episode
Top Gear for me. The original, not the American version. I like every episode.

And now what did you do TODAY?
I'm actually fascinated by bats, but I wouldn't want one as a roommate. Good job Nate.

Happy Belated Birthday Tyll! I hope you got to spend it with family and friends.

Thank You Todd
Thanks so much for all the hard work. It's easy for us to forget about what it takes to keep this place up. I for one would be much less off without it and the great people I've come to think of as extended family. So three cheers to you Todd!!!

So would knock-offs of Beats be called Beat-offs?

System Overhaul Thread
It's really hard to find a dynamic driver fast enough to sound right with planar speakers. I've wondered if turbine style subs might be the solution, but they don't seem to have gone anywhere.

Carrying soundcards + notebooks togther?
Once amps get small enough, I can see the advantages of an active IEM.

System Overhaul Thread
That's somewhat of a loaded question, because bass is so over accentuated in much modern music and music playback systems, that so many younger people have no idea what properly reproduced music should sound like. However, among the more discerning I think delay is pretty audible in all but the lowest frequencies.

Sennheiser HD 800 Redux
Marc was dead on about the F5/K1000 combo. He recommended I build the F5 before he actually heard the combo IIRC, but was pretty sure it'd be the right amp for the K1000. As much as I love the b22, the F5 is the better match for the K1000. Now if it just didn't double my electric bill for the month.
- Digi Birthday Analog Pete!

And now what did you do TODAY?
Apparently I mangled the stylus/cantilever on the Zu/Denon cartridge when I packed it and shipped to Naaman. Bummer!

And now what did you do TODAY?
I think my redneck Father was really disappointed that I had no interest in sports as a child, and it showed. In seventh grade I had my first woodworking class, and made my Father a center console and shifter handle of Walnut for his beloved '66 Chevy pickup. That was the first time I remember seeing pride in my Dad's eyes. My Father grew so much in those years, and stopped comparing me to my older Brothers completely. I have no doubt that Alden is going to become a valued member of the community, and a very successful man. What a great kid!
