  1. Oddly enough, very similar to the cables that were on there previously.
  2. So the Schiit cables arrived today. They are Straight Wire cables, probably made in shorter length for Schiit. Very good quality, and guess what? 6" between connectors. They fit perfectly. For $20.00 per pair I can definitely recommend these. Thanks Grahame and Nate!
  3. Happy Birthday gents!
  4. He just started sending an iPad mini with every Pico. It has the manual downloaded in it.

I still own two Seiko watches that I've had for years. One is a mariner that I don't know the model number (silver w/gold inlay in band, and Blue bezel. Paid about $400.00 in about '87, the other, a Seiko Lassale. A Gold toned dress watch from about the same time period. Super thin and about $600.00 IIRC. They both still work perfectly, but I rarely wear a watch anymore.
  6. Ah, I see, that does change things. I actually quite like your rack mount metal shelves. They could be powdercoated to look better. A hammered Copper finish perhaps, or something matching an existing rug, throw pillow etc...
  7. Making a custom hanging rack is not difficult, but I think with that weight requirement whatever you get is going to need to be mounted to two of your existing wall studs, via lag bolts. A custom rack of 3/4" cabinet grade Baltic Birch comes to mind, because you can cut out rectangular holes on the side panels, between the shelves, to lighten the look, without compromising structure. Veneer the pieces with Walnut veneer (to match your Core Audio racks), but leave the plywood edges raw (sanded, rounded and stained to match the walnut, but with that cool, modern look of the layered plywood veneer cores). If I were more proficient at drawing on the computer, I could get the design idea across better.
  8. What's up with your wrist? Which team are you pitching for again?
  9. Maybe the Zdac will have a similar sound signature?
  10. I did not realize that the McLaren used the Star Trek badging. Do Trekkies buy a lot of exotics today?
  11. Nice X4! I had one of Cannondale's first Mt. Bikes, the "Red Shred". I loved that beast! Circa 1987 IIRC.
  12. Well fine, make me feel like a pauper with only two DACs.

LMAO! I too hear the voice of my fourth grade teacher in my head. Mostly she says "I don't care what what kind of texting language everybody else is using. I taught you proper English, and you're going to use it!"
  14. To paint over that carbon fiber would be a travesty IMO.
  15. Sweet Chris! That bamboo frame is pretty badass too!
  16. That's a lot of options to look into, thanks for that.
  17. So I just purchased my first iPad. I bought a used 1st gen, as I'm planning on using it exclusively with my Cambridge iD100, for music playback. Got it real cheap and thought the large screen might be easier to read and navigate. Is there a way to increase the storage (64 gb) for my iTunes library? I've heard it's not as easy as plugging in an exterior HD, as the iPad isn't capable of pulling iTunes files from an external drive. Is that correct? And is there a way around the problem?

I agree, and that's totally lame. If it's not mastered from the original master tape, why bother?
  19. Sorry, but I'll need a case of Peruvian spring water @ 52 degrees, and two greased gerbils in my dressing room before I answer any questions.
  20. I would love to have it, but have too many amps already. Besides, my F5 has fantastic synergy with my K1000.
  21. But we don't feel the need to change the name of the site, as it still applies to most of us.
  22. Eastern Swing? Bob Wills would be confused. I hope tonight goes better Nate!
  23. Yes please! let's just call it 8" between connectors now. I don't want this to be a freebie! I can send parts money now, or if you'd prefer to bill all at once that's fine too. Thanks Naaman!
  24. Just looked up the Schitt cables. I didn't know they made cables. Those look great, and the price is awesome too. Just ordered 3 pair. So now it's just the K1000 cable and digital cable. Nate, I sent you an update on the K1000 adapter cable via PM.
  25. I've double checked everything and 6" is actually a bit long, but I'd rather error on the long side. I should point out that I mean 6" of visible wire between the connectors, and not 6" total length. If the wire is not real flexible, let's go 8" in between connectors. I just don't want a lot of extra cable making things look unruly in the back. The components are 1.75" tall and I'll need an interconnect between the Zdac and Zpre (1 component in between), An interconnect between the Ztuner and Zpre (no components in between), and an interconnect between the Zamps and Zpre (1 component in between, and no component in between). The digital cable is between the Zcd and Zdac (no component in between). Still waiting on Zdac, Zpre and Ztuner, so I can't take a picture just yet. They are supposed to ship just any day now. That would be great if you have the time Naaman! The 6" digital cable will need to be RCA, as the Zdac has no BNC input. Again, if the cable is a bit on the stiff side, let's make it 8" inbetween connectors.
